A. Kamran's DoD and DoR: Definition of Done and Definition of Ready in ScrumArman Kamran
Definition of what constitutes as a "Ready" PBI (Product Backlog Item) for the Development team to pull into a Sprint, and what makes that PBI considered as "Done" for the Product Owner to review and accept or reject, is a vital factor in building and maintaining a functional and ever improving relationship between PO and the Dev Team.
Here he look at best practices in doing so!
Topic models such as Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) have been extensively used for characterizing text collections according to the topics discussed in documents. Organizing documents according to topic can be applied to different information access tasks such as document clustering, content-based recommendation or summarization. Spoken documents such as podcasts typically involve more than one speaker (e.g., meetings, interviews, chat shows or news with reporters). This paper presents a work-in-progress based on a variation of LDA that includes in the model the different speakers participating in conversational audio transcripts. Intuitively, each speaker has her own background knowledge which generates different topic and word distributions. We believe that informing a topic model with speaker segmentation (e.g., using existing speaker diarization techniques) may enhance discovery of topics in multi-speaker audio content.

This presentation covers how organisations should approach a new digital project such as a web portal, system or mobile app (or combination of all) while considering the brand strategy, marketing or growth hacking approach and technology. The keynote examines the principles of a strategy and different methodologies for the product/project production such as agile, sashimi waterfall, lean and user centred design (UCD). The deck then delves into how to write a concise brief, how to go about resourcing and pick a technology platform or framework (such as Laravel or Ruby on Rails). The presentation covers how great design and project management is fundamental to success and why the design heuristics are so important. Finally the presentation also mentions why PM tools like JIRA, basecamp and Trello are important.
This is a presentation that Margaret Menzies has used to introduce myself to new teams. The last section is an executive summary of Scrum methodology and a basic implementation schedule.

Case Study
You are the CIO of a successful insurance firm with offices in cities across the nation. You provide all major categories of insurance to consumers who include companies and individuals. You recently attended a technology seminar on Cloud computing. It occurred to you that this would offer potential benefits to your organisation and would be well-received by management and staff.
At the seminar you learnt there were many issues to consider, policies to be developed or modified, and new investments to be made to manage a Cloud environment. These included upgrading your ICT Data Security System to accommodate Cloud Computing to protect clients’ and your firm’s data; this needs to synchronise and ensure the integrity of data on servers and end-user devices.
You plan to present your Business Case for Cloud to your CEO, Board and executives. You are required to research the background for a project to implement and manage Cloud, determine the scope for the extent to which you recommend use of the Cloud, use Microsoft Excel to model a business plan, perform sensitivity analysis to validate assumptions, and create a presentation to seek funding and authorisation from senior management to implement and manage Cloud Computing.
As Board members and executives are dispersed across the nation you plan to use YouTube or other medium for your presentation. You will also prepare an Executive Handout containing your spreadsheet and will provide this along with the link to the URL which is where the Executives can access your presentation.
Activity A: Journal (maximum 500 words)
Prepare a journal which records your activities and progress related to completing this assignment. In date order, clearly list the following:

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Plan submitted and created by Thomas Leech, www.winning-presentations.com.
[Determine requirements, guidelines, dictates, standard procedures] -- For many presentations, "audiences" often state explicit instructions.
[Check available expertise that can help you] -- Take advantage of in-house expertise, right from the start.
[Write out your general objective] -- Sell, tell, entertain, stir?
[Write out the specific objective - the end product] -- A common deficiency.
[List factors associated with meeting conditions that might influence presentation] -- e.g., time of day, competing activities, etc.
[Identify and assess audience] -- Particularly pay attention to key decision makers
[Develop your presentation strategy] -- For example, how will you address the audience's major concerns?
[Set a realistic schedule] -- Make sure the resources are there, plus get commitment from all involved.
[Get colleague or management review before proceeding] -- This important step can ensure you're heading down the right road now, before you start spending time and money.
[Focus ideas and information] -- Brainstorm or mindmap here to produce a summary of your major points.
[Choose best topic order] -- Helpful are templates or "wizards" in graphics programs, e.g. Powerpoint.
[Develop detailed outline] -- This is important! Don't get lazy about it!
[Develop introduction to get audience on board and focused] -- Find a snappy hook to get their attention.
[Develop summary to reiterate main points and ask for the order] -- Here's where that earlier summary chart is used.
You can use graphics software or manual methods, but do it. An outline is the best tool for clarifying your ideas.
Try to capture the essence of your story. Then, go into the details.
[Create story board integrating outline with visual aid support concepts] -- A particularly valuable exercise for message clarity and visual creativity.
[Get management review of your organization] -- Another important check point.
[Add to your outline the examples you will use to illustrate, substantiate or liven up.] -- Key words are "for example."
[Develop details of examples, stories, statistical support, etc.] -- May need to gather more information to make sure it's legit.
[Consider what other forms of support can add value] -- Props, displays, hardware, video, multi-media, demos...
[Make sure you know what your graphics production capability is] -- Especially if you're using outside resources.
[Make a test run to ensure graphics quality and capability] -- This can keep you from a lot of re-work later.
[Transform the concepts from your story board to complete graphics] -- Put your right brain in gear to come up with some punchy, clear, convincing graphics.
[Now complete your delivery script] -- Match oral to visual.
[Develop backup charts and plan] -- Just in case
[Track and control costs and schedule to ensure you're staying on course] -- You should be checking this all along.
[Identify and list in detail all staging requirements] -- "The devil's in the details."
[Verify all audio-visual equipment will be available and working] -- You've been warned.
[Make sure all presenters know how to use a/v equipment correctly] -- Like how to turn on the projector.
[Prepare for rehearsals] -- Rehearsals can be big time-wasters.
[Practice, practice, practice, each time getting helpful feedback and improving] -- Yet how many people skip this step, to their regret, and the audience's.
[Use video and speaker coaching to polish your performance] -- Video doesn't lie.
[Test all parts of the presentation] -- e.g., audience questions and answers.
[Arrive at the meeting room enough in advance to check it out on-site] -- Isn't most of this common sense?
[Get mentally prepared] -- Visualize a successful meeting in detail.
[Deliver with energy, conviction, credibility, personality.] -- Do not read. And talk to audience, not screen.
[Respond to your audience] -- This may be what decides success.
[Track the time and meet your target] -- And it's o.k. to end early, if you've done the job.
[Assign action items and make sure they get completed] -- Critical - it ain't over til...
[Apply lessons-learned to future presentations] -- Learn from your hits and misses.
[Make a commitment to sharpen your presentation skills to be better able to advance cause and career] -- Join Toastmasters, buy a good presentations book, speak more often.
