This document provides an overview of SoftwareAG webMethods, a middleware and integration platform. 4. webMethods Integration Server
 is one of the core application servers in the webMethods platform. It is a Java-based, multiplatform
integration server. It supports the integration of diverse services, such as mapping data between formats and
communication between systems.
 An integration server may also be known as the core of webMethods Enterprise Service Bus

webMethods Deployer is a tool you use to deploy user-created assets that reside on source webMethods
runtimes or repositories to target webMethods runtime components (runtimes).
For example, you might want to deploy assets you have developed on servers in a development environment
(the source) to servers in a test or production environment (the target).

Universal Messaging is a Message Orientated Middleware product that guarantees message delivery
across public, private and wireless infrastructures.
Universal Messaging is the most powerful, scalable platform for the webMethods Integration Platform.

9. webMethods Trading Networks
A trading network is a group of organizations that have agreed to exchange business documents. Participants

invoices, and other domain-specific business documents.

BPM is managing the business processes within your corporation. A business process is a series of
inter‐related business tasks that are performed:

SoftwareAG webMethods BPM tool is a useful tool that allows you to have a complete perspective of your
process. It has a simple drag and drop development and each activity of the process is very easy to identify.
Also the visual design ease the development.
Example:
To prepare for a new employee, this business process might include business tasks such as assigning office
space for the new employee, enrolling the employee in the internal Human Resources (HR) system, notifying
the external partner that handles payroll, and obtaining the necessary office equipment (e.g., computer,
phone). Without a defined business process and without using business process management, some of the
business tasks might be forgotten or not completed in a timely manner.
