The Secure+
Power Series sets new parameters for flexible,
off-the-shelf containerised generators. Power options offer
greater variety of application and use, breaking the mould for a
fully configurable range of 20ft or 40ft high cube containerised
generators. Outstanding power output, compact size and
ease of transportation make the series perfect for infinite
applications worldwide.
The Secure+
Power Series models are available with a 55°C
ambient cooling option for operation in extreme temperature
environments.
The Secure+
Power Series generators are supplied in fully
bunded containers, protected against any leakage of diesel
or lubricants. The high capacity fuel tank is also fully bunded
within the container, with all bunding complying to PPG2
DEFRA guidelines. Engine exhaust emissions comply with the
very latest standards.

Case Studies
STOR
An NHS Trust responsible for a busy hospital wanted to
take advantage of the revenue from STOR, provided by the
National Grid to get an income from their installed standby
generators.
Dale Power Solutions were able to design a bespoke controls
upgrade to allow their generators to run in parallel when
demanded by STOR and export unused capacity to the grid.
A pre tested and engineered control solution was designed,
manufactured and installed by the Dale on-site team, carefully
project managed to insure the least amount of disruption to the
day to day running of the Hospital. Temporary generators also
managed by the Dale team ensured that should a power failure
occur during the upgrade, reliable generators were in place to
provide life critical power to the Hospital.
The revenue from STOR enabled the CAPEX required to be paid
back within 24 months and continuing payments used to fund
other critical projects on site.
The generators were being utilised and run on load for up to 50
hours per year, this ensured that they were always ready to take
the Hospital load should a power failure occur.
Data Centre
A major financial institution required new standby
generator units for one of it’s data centre sites.
The existing generator units had come to the end of their useful
working life and the load connected to the units had continued
to increase. The requirements were to install 3 x 1250 kVA
generator units externally of the existing building.
The solution was provided by three Dale Secure Infinity
generators each rated at 1250 kVA.
The generators needed to meet a low noise level of 65 dBA at
1 metre, and needed to incorporate a local control panel, daily
fuel tank and fire suppression system.
The acoustic enclosures had to be designed for either mounting
on a pre-formed concrete plinth or on a steel support structure,
to enable two generator units to be mounted within the same
footprint, to increase the total standby system power density.
Each generator container was suitably handed for both
the power cable connection and with the external exhaust
arrangement differing on all three units to meet the space and
location requirements.
The units were fully tested at our factory test bay, prior to
installation and commissioning at site against the full site
generator open protocol control system supplied by Dale
Power Solutions.

A global oil and gas exploration company required
additional electrical power generation on one of their
offshore platforms in the Middle East.
The challenge
The main electrical power supply to the platform is provided
via a 33kV subsea cable link of over 40km. The requirement was
to install two new generators of 2MW each, to cater for the
additional power requirement.
The Solution
Dale Power Solutions provided two bespoke generator sets,
designed and built to suit the customer’s specific requirements,
with both units rated for continuous operation providing an
output of 2500kVA, 2000kW at 0.8 power factor at 6600 volts.
The sets were designed by Dale to provide optimal power
quality and to operate in harsh offshore environmental
conditions including temperatures of up to 50 degrees
centigrade and in the corrosive saline atmosphere.
During this project, Dale Power Solutions faced several key
challenges in order to install the two diesel generators on the
platform. The first was the limited footprint area available on
deck that required us to engineer the generator sets to fit within
the tight space constraints of 13.5m (L) x 2.4m (W) x 5.7m (H).
Our solution was to mount the radiator and fuel tank externally
on to the roof of each generator to ensure that we met our
customer’s exacting requirements.
The second challenge to overcome was the weight of the units
which exceeded the capabilities of the platform’s crane which
would be manoeuvring the generators into their final position.
Our solution was to apply a modular system design, allowing
for the removal of fuel tanks and radiators from the roof of the
generators, thereby reducing the single-lift weight to 36,000kg
in order to comply with the lifting limit.
Prior to dispatch, the sets were tested at our factory, witnessed
by a team of engineers from the client. Testing included:
protections system, control system, loaded operation, voltage
regulation, speed governing and parallel operation in order to
fully demonstrate the system in accordance with the project
specification.

revenue from your standby generating capacity.
With Dale Power Solutions STOR programme, you provide the National Grid access
to your standby generators, and get money in return. In fact, you’ll get paid twice -
one regular amount for being on standby, and then extra revenue whenever your
electricity is needed.
How does STOR work?
Dale Power Solutions communicates directly with your diesel generator or electrical
consuming equipment, enabling the National Grid to start standby generators and
turn down your electrical consumption at short notice and for short periods across the
UK. This helps to keep the UK’s power supply stable in times of stress.
When the electrical demand spikes, the national grid finds it much easier to manage
these through calling upon a small scale local supply instead of bringing in a major
power station. A consistent payment is made to you for having your power generating
capacity available to the national grid. The implementing payments are made when
your generator is called upon to help with this electrical demand.
