Recommendation for Classroom Assistant Cyndi Burns
1. May 30, 2007
To Whom It May Concern:
Cyndi Burns has been an assistant in my CD junior high classroom for the past 5
years with A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative, at Willow Springs School. Cyndi
worked with a variety of disabilities in the Communication Development class, including
communication and learning disabilities, central auditory processing disorders, autism
and emotional disorders.
Cyndi was a valuable asset to our classroom. She assisted students in
mainstreamed classes and worked closely with me in the classroom to enhance the
learning experiences of our 14 students. Cyndi’s computers skill enabled her to assist the
students in various projects throughout the school year which included PowerPoint
presentations and using Word to create documents, posters and charts. Additionally,
Cyndi really seemed to understand the students and cared very deeply about their
academic progress as well as their emotional and social health. She elicited student
participation on a routine basis and developed motivation in our students. She took
continual initiative to develop “needed” items, such as charts, study guides and our
classroom web page. She followed through on a variety of behavior systems and was
able to enhance many of them with her suggestions.
I would highly recommend Cyndi for any classroom assistant position. She was
an integral component of our program. We will miss her. If you have any further
questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Diane Carter, classroom teacher
