Some areas still only have dial up Internet service. There are places where
cable does not reach, and those phone companies don’t have the DSL service.
Until the time comes when they can get high speed, they have to have dial up
Internet if they want to be online at home. I have a friend in this situation,
but she tells me that she is rather comfy with the service she has, and she is
not sure she would leave dial up if she were given other options.
When you want to find great priced dial up Internet service, you only have to go
as far as your local phone company. However, there are others that might have it
cheaper, and you can always go with them. Even better, you can tell your phone
company that you have found cheaper dial up Internet, and that you are going to
go with someone else. They may match what the other company is offering to you
just to keep you on as a customer. Today, with so many switching to digital
phone and Internet, you can see if they will cut you a deal to keep you on. They
might not do it, but it never hurts to ask.
