In the listening section, students respond to dialogues using greeting, introducing and parting expressions, as well as recount texts. In speaking, they practice using those expressions and perform a monologue of a recount text. The reading section identifies the structure of recount texts and reads examples. For writing, students write a diary and their own recount texts. The chapter aims to enhance students' communicative competence in social functions and recount genre.
