PREFACE
In life, the power of vision is sometimes underrated and
always lead to failure. People start families, businesses,
schools and works without visions and goals only to find
out that they have been lost in the way. This observation
and insight led to the writing of the book “When it is
Dark…” This book describe the power of vision as a
tool to success. It stand to depict that there is no success
with-out vision, there is no proper execution of events
without proper planning and process mapping.
I was born and bred in Mmadinare Village, in the North-
Eastern part of Botswana. I grew up in a very poor
background. It was a struggle to find food to eat, a
struggle to live openly and express views
wholeheartedly all in the fear of “what will I eat or wear
if I do this and that?” it became a struggle up until I was
doing standard 5 that’s when I told myself that “I will do
everything in my power to give back to my family what
the locust have eaten, to restore the dignity and integrity
of my family, to be the best to my family and be an
answer to many prayers they have been making. That is
where my “vision” of being a change maker came from
and through this book I am stepping on the ladder to
make change and impact the nations.
I am running and NGO called Students in Business As-

sociation and I had the whole vision of the organization
from beginning to the end. During the process I chose the
team which I was going to be working with and along the
way I found out that I chose the wrong team which did not
comprehend and understand my vision for the
organization and it had difficulties in getting off the
ground leading to failures in many endeavors we tried to
pursue. This did not break me but it motivated me further
to write this book.
I started writing this book in November 2018 but its
deeper insight began to flow in my head in May 2019
when I reviewed my year’s resolutions and found out
that it was on the list. By then I was still in college and
had enough resources to makeup this book and take it to
where it is now.

INTRODUCTION
Everyone was created in a different way. Different people
carriers’ different dreams, ideas, minds, bodies, priorities
and purpose which qualifies us to have different insights,
visions and paths. A successful vision is tested and in
everything it stands and overcome obstacles set before it.
A vision drives an individual to have focus in life issues,
be responsible and follow their passion.
When dealing with success events, vision is the key
leader. The dashboard of your success must define the
scope of your vision through every stage of life. Vision
make a dreamer relevant to the times and seasons and
operate within the realistic world environment and make
the best out of it.
Pursuit to success is not only a sweet activity, it comes
with a lot of disappointments and failures designed and
created to keep you focused and alert to pave our way to
success. Success is personal and everyone have their
own unique path to follow for them to reach where they
were designed to be. There is no assurance to smooth
success path without challenges, pains, shortcomings,
weaknesses and failure.
To every successful vision there is always a dark part to it,
there is always a part when you felt like you can give up

where you feel like nothing is working, where you felt
like the world is turning against you and no ends are
meeting. This is the point where many visions are dying,
many destinies are compromised and many people get
weary and reduce their focus in the fundamental purpose
of their existence.
This book defines how challenges, pains, weaknesses
and failures make vision to grow stronger instead of
destroying a man. It is designed to help success-hungry
individuals to have a new perception about what they are
going through and realize that it is a designed plan to
help them work harder towards their destinations.

CHAPTER 1
VISION
Vision in the context of life and success I define it as a
“deeper insight and revelation, unique analysis and
empowerment about a particular activity or line of
action. Vision is driven by information and knowledge
about a subject. The more you get equipped with the
necessary information about life and success the larger
the scope of your vision. The context of vision is fully
understood when your knowledge base correlates with
your actions and that brings about success.
Vision can sometimes be defined as a born quality but
you cannot realize it and work towards it when you are
not knowledgeable about its content and scale of impact.
You maybe be born with a broad vision to be a business
man or business woman but the line of action is defined
by the skills and knowledge you acquired to embark on a
particular business idea. Vision acts as a knowledge base
of humanity characterizing of a rough idea, the process to
carry it out, risk contingency equation and the outcome of
an activity.
In most cases we focus more on the idea and its outcome
hence we ignore the process to carry it out. A full vision

must include all these four aspects to be deemed valid and
relevant to a situation. The outcome is the most needful

part of the vision but it is also dependent on other three
aspects, which insinuates that the scope of a vision
should not be bypassed and overlooked in any way.
Vision is also defined by the statement that says “focus
of the outcome but don’t forget the process because
process brings about outcome”.
Everyone have their own vision and carry their own
cross to meet the expectations of the society.
We were born in different societies, nations and cultures
and as such what is expected out of us is different basing
on societal values and norms. Vision can also be define in
the context of our role in the society, what life have trusted
us with and what is expected of us to deliver. Even though
vision is personal but it is not for the individual benefit.
The impact of the outcome of your vision is an answer to
the expectations of the society and not delivering such
expectations can deem you irrelevant and less impactful to
the society or the nation of origin.
Your family is part of the society and direct influencers
on the outcome and the impact of your vision. The
ground where you were born determine the vision that
you have in life. You cannot be established on a mission
that you don’t understand, that you don’t have any
knowledge about. The same way a market lead you a
successful business vision lead you to success.
Instincts speaks louder than words. The clear voice is

heard from within through the inner channel out to the
physical feelings and mind. When it comes to your
mind it might feel like it’s impossible to pursue it and
make it work. It becomes a burden in your heart until it
pushes you to action.
During the establishment of Students in Business
Association I was listening to a radio program on Duma
FM dis-cussing about women empowerment and
establishment of Women in Business Association.
Immediately a thought came to my mind and name popped
up in my heart. I took a piece of paper and I wrote the name
“Students in Business Association”. That was the beginning
of this great organization that today impact more than 1000
students countrywide. It came as a rough idea, by then
nothing was clear, I couldn’t easily map out its successes
and process.
The introduction of a vision is a leaderboard to what you
are about to map out and pursue, it provide the general
insight about the idea at hand and gives a basis on which
the decisions will be made. After this stage your critical
thinking capacity, behavior and decision making
approach enlarges because an item is added to your
scope of life activities. New insights begin to pop out,
passion and interest grow some roots and the only thing
you can think about is actualizing the idea into a physical
concept that people can comprehend and appreciate.

As the passion grow, light is shed and the shoots sprout
the desire to know the general meaning of the idea come
to your mind. You begin to meditate upon your idea day
and night, seeking as much information as you can to put
things in order. The road becomes clear, there is now
enough light to reveal where you are going. This is the
time where the process of the concept is revealed to you
and you come up with relevant strategies to start
working on your vision. The passion is developed and
the excitement grow, many mistakes are done at this
stage of process mapping. Vision takes its root and
overcome obstacles in this process.
After I had the name “Students in Business Association”
I sat down and jotted down the necessary requirements
for the society, searched information on how to register it
and make it functional including costs and regulations
that govern the running of NGO’s in Botswana. That’s
when the whole process was given to me and I started
contacting potential participants and asking for their
assistance in registering the society. I began to write the
constitution and the organizational plan because I had the
vision process and its proposed outcome at heart.
At this point the outcome is not the final one, there is a
room for alterations, improvements, additions and
optimization opportunities to refine the vision idea into a
desired and possibly more impactful strategy. The vision
will be challenged and face frustrations in this stage but

consistency and passion shall carry you through.
The power of imagination and the ability to map the
future out of the present condition is developed, you
begin to see your idea succeeding despite the ups and
downs.
Creativity get enhanced and your vision gain ground
when you begin to generate new ideas to save the future
out of what the present challenges are throwing at you.
As a success hungry person you begin to come up with
ways of avoiding the same challenges to repeat
themselves in the future.
At this stage you are like a student who have failed an
examination and set to repeat the module. They come up
with new methods of studying to avoid failure in the
next level because their vision id to pass the module. As
the vision progress you begin to be bold about your
decisions and actions because you have the process and
the correction strategies at heart.
As an aspiring entrepreneur, student, author and leader
you must understand the importance of backup strategies
to support the implementation of your vision. You will
not have everything mapped out in the heart by this time
but your level of comprehension must at its maximum to
navigate through the vision process and pursue success.
The establishment of every vision is always towards a
specific goal or achievement. A vision without an achieve-

ment is a wasted resource. The power and the impact of a
vision lies in its ability to have measured outcome and
impact. Your actions and decisions in the process are
direct steps towards achieving a vision, they must be
aligned to the rules, principles and regulation of the
perceived out-come. At this stage a visionary works on
establishing and writing down multiple potential
outcomes of a vision and their impact.

CHAPTER 2
THE POWER OF YOUR VISION
Vision is a driver of your actions. Every decision you
make every day about your destiny must be aligned to
the vision that you are carrying. You cannot have a
vision to be a successful entrepreneur and your actions
are investing in failure. Your vision influences your
decision making, it influences your intellectual capacity
and your reasoning ability. It reveals the final destination
of your life and as such keep you in a position to move
safely in the road that lead to the final destination.
Most of the people that are wasting their lives are people
who have not discovered themselves, people who don’t
know who they are and where they are going. The
knowledge of the path you are leading help you to have
control of all the required parameters leading to the final
destination.
Vision is an influencer, vision is path definer and have the
power and ability to saturate the mind of a human being, set
them up the ladder and keep them going until the final
point of arrival. For us to say you have arrived in life you
must be in a position to figure out the results and impact of
your vision, you should be living in the comfort of ac-
accomplishment of your mission and purpose in life.

CHAPTER 3
THE DARK REGION OF SUCCESS
Life is not a promise of only good tidings, life is a
teacher, life is a journey and life is a college. There are
lessons, there are obstacles and there are tests that are set
before us to overcome and get to the next level. A
transition from junior school to senior school is
determined by your results in the final examinations and
such is life. Your transition from one level of life to
another is determined by the level of battles
(examinations) you have boldly faced, fought and won.
You may have a very great vision that you have discovered
its outcome and you believe that it will take you to the top
within a specified time, but one thing I want you to know is
that your vision is going to face challenges, your vision is
going to be tested and your vision is going to be hindered.
“The bigger the vision the more intense the challenges”,
this is what I have discovered about life.
Your road to failure is paved by the moment you begin to
have it in your mind that you will lead a smooth life with-
out challenges and tests. When you begin to overlook the
power of trials in your life that is the moment you begin to
fail. Remember just like vision, failure starts in the mind

and gravitate to the physical manifestation through your
emotions and actions. The moment you feed your

mind with failure you are called a “failed person”. Most
people believe that when they are facing an obstacle in a
certain path of life it means they were not supposed to
be walking in that path.
You can fail in business, in family care, at university
and even emotionally because there is something you
have to learn through that failure.

CHAPTER 4
CHALLENGES OF A VISION
Vision is a process and every process have challenges,
loopholes and failures. In business there is what is called
“Business Process Optimization”. After the loopholes and
discontinuities have been discovered in the process line,
the design team concurrently meet to discuss the process
optimization strategies that must be employed to revive
the company’s reputation. They don’t close the business
because the process is faulty but they maximize on
developing the process to match the market standards
because they are driven by the company’s vision.
When you carry a vision you will be hindered in many
ways, you will be distracted but you will not be derailed.
“After I registered Students in Business Association now it
came to a time of actualizing the vision and bringing the
best out of it. I gathered my team and told them the vision,
it proposed events that we can start with to make the vision
a success. Because of the vision that I was carrying the
events looked so promising and at that time we began to
write down proposals and sponsorship request letters to
different companies to solicit fund for our events. We wrote
and wrote but all to no avail. My team was only sustained
by loyalty to stay in the process because the vision was not

yielding results. At some point they had to leave me one by
one until I called a meeting and officially

stopped all SIBA operations in October 2018. I came to
a point of remembering the vision that I am carrying, I
saw it reality once again and my trust in the vision was
renewed. All the team members we now reluctant with-
out anyone asking anything about the proceedings, their
trusting phase was over and now they lived in the phase
of “if it happens it will happen”. I was left alone in the
proceedings of SIBA I began to work on upskilling my-
self about society operations and knowing many
channels I can use to make this society a success. I
invested in knowledge I began to see things working in a
way I never expected.
There were challenges to the vision I was carrying and
even today there are still challenges but I am sustained
by the power of my vision. There are always going to
be battles surrounding your vision. The hindrances to
the set vision are either intrinsic or extrinsic.
* Intrinsic Hindrances *
Many people hinder their own success motion and they
become their own devils. Your perception, attitude and
actions lead you where you are directing them. Some-
times there is an uncontrollable level of doubt that hit you
every time you try to work on your dreams and vision.
There is a certain powerful inner voice that tells you
strongly that you cannot make it, you are still young, you
don’t have resources, are still a student, you are poor, you
cannot be rich, you cannot write this book, and you cannot

start this business and you cannot succeed. That is the
intrinsic or inner hindrance. It limits your movement
from within, it limit your thinking capacity, and it limits
your inner push towards pursuing your own vision.
There are some situations like this that desensitize your
sensitivity, they make you irrelevant to the times and
seasons you are living in, they make you lose trust in
your power to success and trust failure over success.
They may come to you in that manner but you delay is
not your conclusion. As long as you carry the vision you
are too big to be concluded by that hindrance. Vision
have the power to announce itself even when the owner
is not societally accepted. Many people give up at this
level because they cannot overcome themselves.
I am telling you today that you can still overcome your
inner doubt, you can still overcome yourself, and you can
still be the best version of yourself. It is not over yet, the
world have something better for you. As long as you are
still holding onto your vision and purpose and see its im-
pact before time you can still make it. What you are
carrying is a simple representation of your capacity, you
cannot be given beyond or less than you can bear.
Whatever that you can think about, whatever that you
believe is your vision you have the power to actualize it.
You may have hindered your own vision, took decisions
that disqualified you, thought negatively that you were

not able to help yourself and hindered your own vision
to succeed. I want to let you know that success is
certified. When failure come your way you see success
in failure and you make it to your final destination.
* Extrinsic Hindrance *
The environment around you, the people, the trees, the
cars, building and weather you find yourself in can
hinder your vision and deem it irrelevant and useless.
Pressure comes in different dimensions and atmospheres.
Every-thing that is around you have the power to control
your life whether living or non-living, there is a force that
controls everything on earth and the force can either
work for you or work against you. For your to overcome
the forces of nature you need to gain knowledge as a
fundamental asset that differentiate you from the rest of
the people around you.
“Let’s look at a man who always bake sweet breakfast
biscuits and sell them out every morning wrapped with
newspapers. The man delivers the biscuits to a certain
homestead in his hood every morning and there is no
disturbance. His vision is to be the best biscuit seller in
the area and deliver them to customers in a good state.
One day the man woke up and baked the biscuits and
when he was on his way to deliver them rain began to fall
heavily without sign, it was heavy such that it spoiled all
his biscuits and he couldn’t make any sales that day.”

Looking at this scenario if the man could have had pre-
pared himself for all situations and conditions, he could
have used a waterproof material to wrap his biscuit and
they could have not been spoilt by the heavy rains. Lack
of information and knowledge can make you be not
aware of the environment around such they it end up
derailing you from your vision.
The environment can hinder your vision in a way that
you never expected, the people that you least expected
that they can be against you will turn their backs on you
and make you feel like giving up. I want to tell you
something, your vision does not need multitudes it need
knowledge to attract helpers. Without knowledge and
information you cannot get your vision going and
improve it with time.
Sometimes people can confuse you and make you see
your vision in a way that is wanted by them, they can
feed you with a lot of information that will make you feel
like your vision is not going to work but what will sustain
you is the information and knowledge you have about the
subject matter. It will help you to have a stand in what
you are doing and overcome negativity.

OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES
Hear me and hear me well obstacles are meant for your
good, obstacles are vision empowers, obstacles make your
vision to discover new roots, discover new potentials and
walk in new prosperous paths. In a business case “when
your competitors increase In the market you are not
supposed to quit business but you have to come up with
product development and market segmentation strategies
that you can use to gain competitive advantage over your
rivals.” The power to overcome this challenges is in the
revelation you have about your vision. Challenges are not
there to kill or destroy your vision but to make it brighter
and brighter and enhance its strength and impact.
“There was a time I was I had perception that I can get
everything in need at any time from anyone. I had that
believe in me that it made me overlook certain things and
make decisions that are not calculated for Students In
Business Association. I believed that getting a sponsorship
from an organization is very simple and can be done in
a second. I overlooked many things by the thought that
processes were easy until learnt that it is totally the
opposite of what I have been thinking. I began to see things
in a different and began after I have failed to secure
sponsor-ships for a couple of times and that’s when I

realized that I have been working in the deception of my
own self.”

It is not easy to overcome the hindrances of a vision but
with the correct process overcoming is certified. Let’s
look at the following ways of overcoming yourself and
paving your way to success.
Everyone in born differently with different goals and
with different perceptions of the events of life. When you
were born there is a land in which you landed and that is
you locality. How you perceive life is determined by your
locality and the story behind your life. Vision exist to
defy all the odds and keep you focused even in your
downtime. “When a machine is in its downtime position
it cannot work, one way or the other production have to
be stopped in order to repair the machine back to its
normal operating condition”. Having a vision is a burden
enough to keep you focused and have self-repairing
attitude when dealing with to reach your final destination.
Perception is the most important and hidden attribute of
vision and is controlled by different factors such as the
environment, people around you, your past experiences and
the level of challenges you face in life. Changing your
perception automatically changes the level of commitment
and faith you allocate to your vision. Stand up and begin to
see the successes of your vision, when everyone see failure
see success, when your level of commitment to vision
actualization reduces hold unto the image you have about
the future work on your strengths and make the

best out of them.
* Perception - Attitude towards people *
We were made to live among people, some are our
helpers, our parents, sisters, brothers, business partners,
school mates and so on. Your relationship with people
determine the success of your vision, your role in the
society is of vital importance as far as vision is
concerned. People can help you kill or build your dreams
depending on how well you relate and handle them. Out
of every behavior you come across in the society there is
either a gain or a lesson, so meet everyone with the
learning spirit but do not overlook the possibilities of
vision hindrance from the external environment. Having
a positive attitude towards people, great interpersonal
skills and relations with the society opens a door for your
vision to be supported and succeed in all ways. You don’t
have to boast with you dreams and feel like you are on
top of the world because of your vision and that is to say
no matter how great your vision is, it need supporters, if
it’s a business it needs employees, business partners,
shareholders and customers. Your good attitude towards
people help pave a way to greatness by creating support
structures for your vision to succeed and have impact.

* Perception - Attitude towards success *
The way you perceive success determine whether you are
leading to lose or to win. Many people believe that they
cannot be successful, once poor they will remain poor and
believe that success is only for the most intellectually
gifted and academically excelling people. The way we
look at success determine the value we assign to it in our
lives. When I value poverty I will be poverty oriented and
promotes poor mindset, and when I value success I will
success oriented and become successful.
Your vision depends upon your perception about, the need
for it to take shape and be actualized. If you are failing to
see your vision succeeding before implementation, failing
to give your vision time because you feel it’s too heavy for
you now that is the moment you are killing it. When you
have a vision you need to work towards it you need to start
doing something towards it. You may have a great vision
that you cannot accomplish in a second but there is always
an effort that you can do in the now time to prepare for the
greatness of your vision. “When you are an upcoming
author and you have a vision to write a book, you don’t
just wakeup and believe that you can do that in a second.
You have to start with small measurable steps towards
book writing including reading other related books,
networking with other writers, brainstorming your book
idea and make book researches. You have not yet started
writing your book but you are taking a step that is leading
to you writing your own book with ease.”

Working towards your vision does not mean you have to
achieve that within a second. Small steps bring about
great shift in your life. The most expensive, durable and
hard metals are made out of small particles of metal
powders. Small tasks you undertake brought together
brings about a great vision that will stand the test of
times and succeed.
Have a good perception about your vision, embrace what
is inside of you, unleash the power of possibilities in you
and make the best out of every opportunity you get. For
your vision to succeed there is a way you have to see it.
See your vision in the domain of success not in the do-
main of failure, when you see it failing come up with
measures you can bring it to success, try always to keep a
positive mentality that will make it easy for you to
pursue you dreams and get where you were destined to
be. It is not easy to maintain a positive mindset towards a
certain goal but let the outcome of the vison speak on
your behalf always be driven by the results you see about
your destination.
“When a hotel is advertised in social media or on a poster,
it is the picture you see about the hotel that drives you to
visit the hotel and get to use their services. You don’t
know the hotel yet, you have not yet seen the place you
don’t have an idea of how the place is going to affect your
life but what you see about the place have an upper voice
above your feelings and it raises your expectations about

the place. That is the reason why you end up visiting the
place. “What am I saying? Your vision always drive you
to work towards it. When you see the final destination
you are certain about what you are working on, no matter
the amount of investment required you are willing to
invest in your heart’s desire to change the world.
* Perception - Attitude towards failure *
Failure was made to enhance our creativity levels and
learn from it. Failure is not a weapon of destruction to
your vision and purpose but it is a tool that help you to
become more creative, think outside the box, meditate
towards your future steps to overcome the same situation.
“When you manufactures a certain product and you are
not able to sell it off does not mean that is the end of your
business. It only a communication forcing you to improve
their product characteristics, production process, your
marketing and sales strategies.”
When you fail you must be in a position to see success on
the other side of the failure you are going through. Your
perception towards failure defines whether you are going
to be able to proceed to the solution or you are going to
end where you are. When you believe in the vision that
you are carrying you will always work on making it hap-
pen. Failure is not the end of the road but it’s a pointer that
helps you to redefine your direction and strategies to
overcome the obstacles and move on in life. “When you
fail at university as a student that is the opportunity for

you maximize on your strengths, maximize your time in
studying so that you will get better results in the next ex-
aminations” if your failures can make you give up on
your dreams and visions forget about success.
You must be in a position to support your vision through
every stage of it. It is not easy to maintain your
dedication upon your vision but when the outcome is
clear and defined you have a reference point in which
you are working on. The power to overcome failure is in
the definition of your final destination. You are carried
through by your strengths you draw from how your
outcome look like. Do not avoid failure but avoid giving
up because failure is a teacher and giving up is the end of
the road. Be determined about what is your heart and
make it become a reality.

CHAPTER 6
THE POWER OF IMAGINATION
Your mind is a central communication point of your life
so it is important to always guard what enters and leaves
your mind. There are situations we find ourselves in that
nullifies the power our minds and we end up losing what
we have, our dreams and our visions. You can meet with
people that are going to undermine your thinking ability
and make you think less of yourself and others. Your
mind can work for you and can work against you, it de-
pends on what you are feeding it with. Always guard
your mind with all diligence knowing that it have the
power to destroy your visions and nullify all your
efforts. . The mind is divided in two different sections
which are the conscious/imaginary mind and the
subconscious mind. They work together in actualizing
your vison and purpose.
* Conscious / Imaginary Mind *
This is a temporary storage of the events of life. It is a
human Random Access Memory (RAM), It stores
information and control your imaginary world. When you
see what others are doing your imaginary mind will form a
picture of you in their situation. How you see yourself is
exactly how you are going to be and that is the definition
of your success or failure. Failure start in imagination,

success start in your imaginations and it also end in
your imagination so there is a need to guard your mind
to think positively towards your vision.
“One day I had a vision to establish a family business
with my siblings to create a platform where our
generations are going to have an endless sources of
income. I packaged the vision well and it

was great and it looked successful in the, I saw the in my
mind, saw customers busying and money popping in
seeing the success of the business. There came a time I
had to present the idea to my siblings so that we can start
working towards it. I presented the vision and some
agreed and saw it as a great idea but some asked me “are
you sure we are not going to interfere with your great
idea?” They had a perception of failure and saw the
vision in a way that was different from mine so it affected
me so much to a point that I gave up on the idea.
Automatically I started to have a negative thought about
the idea and it gradually died within me. I am currently
work on reviving the vision because I have the process
and I have the idea to make the vision a reality”
With a negative environment around you, your
imaginations can be corrupted and the moment you are
