The International Social Security Association (ISSA) advocates a holistic, 3-dimensional approach including work and non-work factors. The ISSA is working to promote a global culture of prevention through guidelines, standards, capacity building and recognition programs for social security administrations.
This document discusses the need for a new, integrated approach to prevention in the context of global challenges to workers' health and safety. It argues that traditional risk-focused prevention measures alone are no longer sufficient, and a holistic, person-centered approach is needed that considers both occupational and non-occupational factors influencing individual well-being. The International Social Security Association is well-positioned to promote such a culture of prevention among its members by providing guidelines, training, and support for more comprehensive prevention practices.

The goal is to create drones that are helpful, interactive, safe and autonomous.
This document outlines a vision for the future of healthcare in the Netherlands created by a taskforce of young healthcare professionals including doctors, pharmacists, and other specialists. They envision a system in 2025 that is more focused on prevention, coaching, and collaboration between providers. Key aspects of their vision include healthcare that is personalized and located closer to home, with general practitioners as the primary providers and specialists handling complex cases. Healthcare will be delivered through greater digitalization and self-management tools. Funding will reward quality over volume, and the system will emphasize flexibility, lifelong learning, and a coaching approach that prioritizes patients' expectations and shared decision making.

The document provides examples of project activities and an ongoing safety day initiative to inspire the safety culture.
Manual Handling: Yes it physical but it is also social and emotionalRisk ManagED
This presentation was delivered at the National Back Exchange in the UK in September 2018 and was voted best plenary session of the conference.
Musculoskeletal Injuries (MSI) has long been a significant problem within the health sector with caregivers, nurses and allied health professionals being significantly as risk. There is recognition that tackling MSI, demands multifaceted intervention addressed at an organizational and individual level. Although manual handling involves an interaction between two or more people in transferring (care giver and receiver) and within a social and cultural context, many interventions in manual handling solely seek physical solutions to problems. The involvement of people in manual handling activities creates and social and emotional environment, many of which can help or hinder the transfer process.
This presentation will examine of social and emotional aspects of manual handling identifying many of the common barriers and enablers they present. It will provide a framework for addressing these social and emotional elements to profit from opportunities to reduce the physical aspects of manual handling.
This presentation will enable participants explore manual handling beyond the physical to address social and emotional aspects results in better outcomes for all stakeholders

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

Case study – disability inclusive
emergency response
People with disabilities are
extra vulnerable:
• Can’t hear / see alarm
• Can’t run away from a flood
• Require devices lost in chaos
• Struggle to communicate
• Can’t reach a water point in a camp
• Are pushed away in the queue
People are left behind….
What can we do about it?
16. Buro Dr Walter | Disability inclusive Health, Safety & Security | March 2017
Embed inclusion into Duty of
Care
• Discuss specific needs of staff with a
disability.
• Practice and adapt to changing
circumstances
• Train teams, not individuals
• Discuss needs with travel agents and
insurance companies

NGOs face this reality while
we struggle to guarantee
programme continuity while
also safeguarding our staff.
