Introduction
During the past century or so, medical care in the United States has shifted from individual
doctor–patient interactions, typically within an office setting, to interactions in health care
facilities that continue to grow larger and more complex. Modern American health care has
become more highly specialized, technology centered, and fragmented—a phenomenon that
has been anticipated since the mid-19th century. The English sociologist Herbert Spencer
(2004) observed that as society increases in complexity, so do its social institutions. The
bureaucratic explosion within health care, therefore, seems less a symptom of inefficiency
and institutionalized excess and more a part of the necessary, long-term development of spe-
cialized sectors within advanced industrialized society (Toulmin, 1990).
Today, early 20th-century forecasts seem to aptly describe the current state of affairs. Physi-
cians increasingly work in large, complex medical centers and practice settings and tend to
see their scope of professional discretion minimized and finitely defined. The fear of going
beyond those clear limits frequently causes physicians to practice medicine defensively,
sometimes forgoing the ends of patient care to do so. Practicing under such constraints has its
advantages but can also distract physicians from their professional duties. For many patients,
medical care has become akin to conveyer-belt production. Continuity of care once meant
having the same health care professionals in a lifelong relationship with the patient. In the
new era of medicine, care is more likely to involve patients being scuttled between sometimes
dozens of different caregivers, very few of whom will even remember the patient’s name or,
in some cases, even meet with the patient one on one. As a result, patients may become suspi-
cious of their caretakers, sometimes even assuming an adversarial stance where once there
would have been warm acceptance (Phillips & Benner, 1994).
Most health care administrators and managers enter the profession with clear priorities on
patient care but soon feel incessant economic and regulatory pressures to protect their insti-

diseases to chronic disease and degenerative illnesses, is the nation ready to assist older adults in living long and healthy lives? In this course, you have gleaned
skills and techniques in analyzing public health policies and communicating social justice issues when assisting the aging population.
For your final project, imagine you are working with a group of older adults facing a public health policy issue. You have been asked to advocate on behalf of this
group by developing a policy brief to present to a representative of your state or a state with which you are familiar. You will need to identify the public health
issue with the assistance of your population. Your next step would be to compose a public health policy brief explaining the purpose and significance of the
public health policy issue and provide recommendations to a policy maker with potential solutions.
The project is divided into three milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final

I am sure that many claims were summited that were grossly over estimated, leading to higher health care costs for insurance companies and the consumers. I thought that the portion CDHPs was interesting. CDHPs allow consumers to control health care costs by giving them the opportunity to save money for health care, by letting consumers bank tax free money from paychecks to use towards medical expenses. Hello class, my name is Rachel and I am nearing (finally) the end of my MHA degree. I have been a nurse for over 15 years and decided to transition from clinical healthcare to administrative because I have worked in many organizations where administrative leaders have little to know clinical knowledge, yet make substantial decisions impacting clinical workflow and patient care. That being said, I have worked over 10 years in the federal healthcare system as a military spouse and recently relocated to Japan after living in Germany for 6.5 years. I actually am writing this in quarantine (thanks Covid-19) as military regulations require us to quarantine for 14 days after arriving in the country. My career goals have been modified quite a bit in the last year, as I was gearing up to move back to the US and have a lot more employment opportunities, but like always, the military had different plans for us. My employment options are very limited here in Japan but I hope to make the best out of the situation and hopefully can find some employment opportunities to enhance my professional development.
As I mentioned, one of the main reasons I switched from clinical to administrative roles is because I felt decision makers needed clinical guidance and knowledge. When thinking about the role of interest groups in policy-making, I think it’s fair to say a wide variety of stakeholders need to be actively engaged in the policy process to best suit all stakeholders. I say this because a policy can improve things for one group of stakeholders while providing negative effects for another group. For example, access to care has been at the forefront of many healthcare issues; however, shortening appointment times to allow for more appointment slots will improve access to care for patients but could decrease the quality of care provided from providers and increase the workload of those clinicians. I can speak from experience that this change, while intended to have positive impacts on patient care actually leads to increased frustration from both providers and patients because patients are rushed out of their appointments feeling like the provider isn’t listening. That being said, focus groups for policy making should include a variety of stakeholders such as providers, patients, public figures, insurance agents and government officials if available to create an environment to discuss policies that will affect positives and negatives for each stakeholder group to best approach local and national levels. Furthermore, it is important to remember that many healthcare policies and decisions are made at the state level and don’t require fe.

Context
Community/public health nursing is nursing care that is population-focused and occurs in non-hospital settings. Numerous nursing theories can provide the structure for community/public health nursing; however, nursing theories that incorporate components of the general systems theory frequently provide the framework for the practice of community/public health nursing.
Historically, nurses have made significant contributions to the field of public health. From providing maternal-child care to poor women in the late 1800s, to promoting hygiene among school aged children in the early 1900s, to providing environmental and safety care to industrial workers during World War I, nurses have been instrumental in shaping health policies (Maurer & Smith, 2013). Today, community/public health nurses have a key role in identifying and developing plans of care to address local, national, and international health issues.
Many factors influence the health of communities and populations, including national policies that focus on health promotion. Healthy People, a major national health promotion program issued by the U.S. Surgeon General, identifies major health problems of the nation and sets national goals and objectives targeting health promotion (Maurer & Smith, 2013). If adopted, activities that target health promotion can result in disease prevention.

bodies of knowledge (BOK)

These experiences were then shared in hard-copy form with all other employees. This early effort ballooned into a full-fledged KM effort supported by e-mail, bulletin boards, and various knowledge repositories. After reading this weeks chapter, collective bargaining is essentially a negotiation and comprised of four parts, identifying the issues, researching, strategizing and setting ground rules. (Seaquist, 2015) In my opinion of the one step that would be most important would be the identifying the issues. You need a clear cut idea of what the issues are and where you plan to go with all of this "Since the end product of collective bargaining is the actual agreement, it is essential to first identify what collective bargaining should accomplish. This is referred to as identifying the issues.". Without clarity you could be arguing for nothing and that is where you will wind up and no resolution to anything. Identify what is wanted and /or wrong and then as they say do the research to know where you are going with this. As I stated before, without this step, things would become primarily useless as there is no guidance as to what the main issues are. Such as in this article it describes Mandatory Bargaining Issues as "An employer doesn't have to bargain over every conceivable employment issues. However, employers must bargain with the union over issues that are central to the employment relationship, such as wages, hours, and layoff procedures. Employers must give the union advance notice of any proposed workplace changes that involve these issues, if the union requests it. An employer who refuses to bargain or takes unilateral action in one of these mandatory bargaining areas commits an unfair labor practice."(Guerin, L.2015).

This is referred to as identifying the issues.". Without clarity you could be arguing for nothing and that is where you will wind up and no resolution to anything. Identify what is wanted and /or wrong and then as they say do the research to know where you are going with this. As I stated before, without this step, things would become primarily useless as there is no guidance as to what the main issues are. Such as in this article it describes Mandatory Bargaining Issues as "An employer doesn't have to bargain over every conceivable employment issues. However, employers must bargain with the union over issues that are central to the employment relationship, such as wages, hours, and layoff procedures. Employers must give the union advance notice of any proposed workplace changes that involve these issues, if the union requests it. An employer who refuses to bargain or takes unilateral action in one of these mandatory bargaining areas commits an unfair labor practice."(Guerin, L.2015).

Due Week 8 and worth 200 points
This “Assignment 2” writing assignment is a comparative essay focused on topics encountered in our HUM 111 class. The project will be based on research but will reflect your views and interpretation of the topic. This project is designed to help you stretch your mind and your abilities as an organized, innovative, and critical thinker. If approached properly, it should also be fun!
Choose one (1) of the topics from the list of topic choices below. Read the topic carefully. Write a three to four (3-4) page paper (750-1,000 words) that follows instructions and covers each part of the topic. (The title page and References list do not get included in this word count).
Note:
Your instructor may require you to submit your topic choice for approval before the end of Week 5.
For the topic you choose:
Establish a clear thesis about your topic as part of the introductory paragraph (often the thesis is the last thing one determines after doing the basic research and outline; however it will be placed in the first paragraph of your paper).
This is a comparative essay. Comparison approached properly will require some critical thinking on your part. Use a point-by-point approach for the essay. That means, if comparing subject A with subject B, don't do the first half of the essay on subject A and then the second half on subject B--that will seem like two (2) separate essays and comparisons will tend to get lost. Instead, you should be mentioning both subjects in most of your paragraphs as you compare them throughout the essay. Comparisons will identify similarities as well as contrasts.
Do not try to do everything on your two (2) subjects. You should end up narrowing your focus to a few insights and issues about the subjects being compared. And, from those fairly specific points of comparison, you will develop a thesis and glean some lessons.
Follow closely the instructions below for your specific topic.
Include a concluding paragraph at the end. This paragraph will, in some way, refer back to the thesis established in your first paragraph, since now you have demonstrated and supported it. It may be here that you also include your observations relating your study to the modern workplace or society (see your topic). Try to finish with flair!
Use at least three (3) good quality academic sources, with one (1) source being the class text.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

Details: As of 2014 health care expenditures in the United States are near 17% of our gross domestic product (GDP), with a major portion of Medicare funding goes towards chronic illness and care at the last 6 months of life. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has made some initial legislative changes in our health system, but not sufficient to address our growing expenditures and caring for our large aging population. In this assignment, learners will synthesize issues in aging with health policy solutions by writing a paper on one health issue for older individuals addressed in the topic and offering a policy solution. Example of issue: In 2014, over 50% of the costs of institutional long-term care for older persons are paid for with public funds from Medicaid. Directions: Write a 1,000-1,250 word paper that addresses a health issue for older individuals. Include the following: 1. Evaluate what the literature suggests as a resolution to your chosen issue. 2. Discuss any attempts to incorporate the solution into public policy. 3. Determine the barriers to implementation of the solution. 4. Analyze the options being discussed for public and/or private funding. 5. Propose your own recommendation.
