The document discusses the roles and accomplishments of an architecture team across four areas: 1) Information Architecture - They standardized data architectures and applied several financial standards, with ROI increasing after each implementation wave. 2) Systems Architecture - They defined technical solutions for strategic projects, supported technology selection, and built reusable components. 3) Infrastructure Architecture - They defined solutions for environments, operations, disaster recovery, storage, virtualization, scalability, and runbooks. 4) Integration Architecture - They planned and deployed an integration layer to improve interoperability between diverse platforms, developing all integrations for strategic projects.

1. - Information Arch:
Evolve BTG Data Architecture, focused on the definition and implementation of a standardized
approach for conceptual and data Architectures. Among financial industry standards, we
evaluated and applied: FpML, Swift, ISO20022 and BIAN. The ROI was poor in the beginning and
got greater after each wave of services implementation. Deploy the BI platform to support
operations and business departments, with good results for Wealth Management, Merchant
Banking, Risk Management and Human Resources departments.
- Systems Arch:
Define technical solution for each strategical project on the Program. Support "buy x build"
decisions, prepare the RFPs to the market and follow them up. Define the technical stack,
patterns and build development accelerators and frameworks. Deploy SOA main patterns
focusing on: ESB ,batch data integration, componentization, load balancing and governance of
the SOA registry. The avoided costs by reusing components were last estimated on R$ 2 millions
on a 3 years period of time.
- Infrastructure Arch:
Define the technical solution for each strategical project on the Program. Main concerns were:
define right set of environments, the most homogeneous and simple operation possible,
monitoring capabilities, functional disaster recovery platform and plan, rationalized data storage
usage, server virtualization patters, solutions scalability, scheduling and the basic operating
runbooks.
- Integration Architecture:
One consequence to adopting a "buy" option on a software selection process, is to loose some
control over environments homogeneity. The tendency is to have more complex integration
issues among different platforms. To help avoiding this, and as part of the bank's SOA approach,
this team has been responsible to plan, architect and deploy the new integration layer, covering
on-line and batch use cases. The choosen solution was based on IBM technology. In addition to
deploying the solution patterns and software platforms, the team has assumed the
responsibility to also develop all integrations to the Bank's strategical projects. XXX hours of
development and XXX integrations were delivered.
