We were pioneers.
We geeked out.
We created the first Facebook.
We made the Internet cool.
And then…

Compuserve
Prodigy
The first online ad was launched.
And that day, the users slowly lost control.
The internet became business as usual.
We made a deal.
Our souls in exchange for better experiences.
What we got.
What we got.
What we got.
They crashed and burned.
The return to the open Internet promised a new era of openness.
It wasn’t meant to be.
And then…
We smartened up.
We started building again.
We figured out how to use the Internet to fund our passions.
Connect with people on our own terms.

And…

Can you give it away?

How to design for a user-hijacked world?
Don’t write the story.
Set the stage.
Then, let em hijack it.
When you design it to be hackable…
It just gets better.
Users = u$age. That’s the goal.
