I am applying for the open position of Design Manager with Alion Science and Technology.
I have a master’s degree in fine art but I also studied business administration and have
over two years of experience holding a management position. I have experience
conducting interviews along with hiring and training new employees. I also filled out
reports and kept upper management updated on all issues regarding my department.
I was responsible for handing out assignments and supervising all work from the
beginning of a project to the end. It was my job to make sure the employees were
performing their duties in a fast but efficient manner. I also made sure employees stayed
within the allotted budget and that all work was completed within the time allowed.
I am great with computers and I have experience working with web designs using a variety
of programs. I have outstanding multi-tasking abilities, time-management skills and the
ability to conduct extensive research for all projects. I have excellent interpersonal skills
and a very easy-going personality. This combination makes it easy to listen to criticism and
then use this information in a constructive manner to help the design team become the
best in the business.
I have excellent verbal skills with the ability to express myself in a clear and concise
manner. I can also make a connection with clients by listening to what they are saying
when they describe the type of design they need. This helps to ensure we meet or exceed
their expectations.
