Government High School in 5-puthur village, Tiruvannamalai district, Tamilnadu, India lacked proper irrigation of waste water from the school tank. A team of students from grades 4-8, mentored by K. Ponnambalam, decided to change the situation by raising a plantation and diverting the waste water to irrigate the plants. The students did soil work and plantation with support from friends. As a result, the school campus is now beautified with a green area irrigated by the formerly wasted water.
