This document contains information about descriptive text structures and examples of descriptive paragraphs. Descriptive text describes what a person, place, or thing is like. It generally includes an identification section to introduce what will be described, followed by descriptions of features using specific adjectives and simple present tense verbs. Two examples are provided: one describing a visit to the zoo and seeing a panda, noting its black and white coloring and bamboo diet; the other describes the writer's pet dog, a golden retriever named Didi and his soft fur and enjoyment of belly rubs and walks.
