This document is a 313-word narrative essay by a student named Khor Seem Leng about a mechanical pencil they received as a gift from Sunday school. 2. Descriptive essay – object ( Mechanical Pencil )
I believe everyone have a precious pencil with significant meaning in
life .Well….the same goes to me.
It happens a few years back……
It was the typical mechanical pencil that a 12 year old girl would use with a bear
head on the tip of the cover. It was actually a welcome gift from a church Sunday’s
class .Also, it was the first time I went to a church with my friend .It was one of my
favourite mechanical pencil back then .
This mechanical pencil best describes me. Don’t ever judge a book by its cover .I
– like the pencil may look childish in appearance but then deep inside I am actually very
sensitive and fragile. It’s just like the lead of the mechanical pencil, very brittle and
would break easily even with just a light twist. Hence, it does require a lot of patience,
care and effort to maintain my emotion at all times. I have to learn to deal with other
people’s emotions though it’s not an easy task at all.
Besides that, I am also the kind of person that is easily over motivated or

3. stimulated up to a point where I may experience great pain or great joy. I am just like a
normal mechanical pencil, have a sharp eyes at the tips and requires the help from
others ( lead ) to be able to function properly. I admit I am not an independent kid all this
while.
Moreover, I am also unique in my own way although I may look the same compared
with the others. Due to my pleasant and outgoing nature, I can get along with others
easily .I am also someone who gather up the courage to do what’s right in times of
tough situations.
In a nutshell, I may not be any one of the expensive or special mechanical pencil but
just a common mechanical pencil among the others. However, I differ from them in
many ways too due to me having my own unique personality.
