CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Sana lahat diretso.” This was the appeal made by an
emotional Governor Lilia Pineda before delivering her State of the Province Address (SoPA)
at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center yesterday. Her statement came on the heels of the
barrage of charges being hurled against 2nd District Congresswoman Gloria MacapagalArroyo, who is now recuperating at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Manila after a surgery last
Friday.
In between sobs, Pineda asked hundred of Capitol employees and ordinary folks at the
Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center to pray for Mrs. Arroyo’s speedy recovery, and that she
be able to answer the corruption issues thrown at her.
“Hindi gano’n kaganda ang kanyang [Mrs. Arroyo] sitwasyon. Sana tulungan natin siyang
magdasal sa mga issues sa kanya,” Pineda said.

2. In an interview after her SoPA, Pineda said chiefs of government agencies during the
Arroyo administration should also help the former president answer corruption inquiries
especially [if] it involves their agency.
Pineda admitted that issues thrown at Mrs. Arroyo now are “frightening.”
“Nakakatakot ang nangyari sa former president dahil hindi lahat ay naging loyal at
sumuporta sa kanya,” Pineda said.
[Director General Dennis L. Cunanan of the Technology Resource Center was cited to be
