These are some specific roles we will each be focusing on, (Ellie) I will be doing (list), (Ciarra) and I will be doing (list)
(Ellie)We chose the title “Delilah Run” as we felt it was in keeping with the genre. It is also very short and dramatic, which tends to be very common within titles of Film Noir films. We chose the genre “Film Noir” because we felt that It could enable us to be creative by exploring the era of the 1950’s, and using Mise-en-scene and codes and conventions to present the era well. We felt the storylines tend to be very dramatic which gave us a chance to be creative with the plot as well.
(Ciarra) Our film is focused on a young, attractive woman who has recently killed her husband so that she could get all his money (typical Femme Fatale). One night, she is caught by a man named “Richard” who happens to be her husbands brother. Turns out her husband suspected this, and hired his brother (private eye) to get revenge if it did come to that. Throughout the film, Delilah is on the run from Richard. Richard has an encounter with Delilah's best friend, Mildred and they eventually fall in love and plan revenge on Delilah together until eventually they kill her at the end of the film.
(Ellie) The opening sequence will be Delilah walking out of the pictures with Mildred, they both go their separate ways and walk home. Delilah is circled by a group of young men who shout rude remarks and pull on her handbag and coat. When she escapes, she runs round the corner and to her surprise is caught again by Richard.
(Ciarra) The BBFC rating will be a 15 due to strong violence throughout the film.
(Ellie) Delilah is the classic femme fatale and murdered her husband to get all his money. She is 38 years old and has always lived in Urban London. She is a very attractive young woman and often draws attention to herself from men.
(Ciarra) Edward is Delilah’s husband, he is very wealthy and is the brother to Richard. Although we don’t meet Edward, he is still a very significant character to the story line.
(Ellie) Richard is Edwards brother who is a private eye. He is strong and suave and has always lived in Urban London.
(Ciarra) Mildred is Delilah’s best friend who eventually falls for Richard, she is also very attractive.
(Ellie) Out of the past is about a man who sends a private eye to take the money back from his run away wife. (Ciarra) The wife suspects the husband is going to murder her, this film involves a very charming man. (Ellie) It involves the husband hunting for money and the woman he is married to is a widow and it was her previous husbands money.
(Ciarra) This genre allows us to explore and demonstrate the 1950’s era using Mise-en-scene e.g. clothing, props, hairstyles etc. It also allows us to be creative with the story line as they tend to be very dramatic.
(Ellie) Our target audience is 40-70 year olds, from the UK, an average salary of £25k+ and White. We feel that we can capture our audiences attention by taking them back to their childhood (1950’s-60’s era) and making the scene dramatic and vintage looking.
