Dante finally finds a job as a host at a restaurant and works his way up to executive chef, lifting the hopelessness and culinary career rewards. He marries his fiance Lola, who moves in after he lifts hopelessness. They have a baby boy named Lucas. Meanwhile, their cat Atlas works in the showbiz career and gets promoted to stunt double. The chapter ends with Lucas celebrating his first birthday.

1. The Déjà Vu
Apocalypse
Chapter 1

2. Welcome to chapter 1, time to really get this apocalypse started.
“So, this is it, huh?”
Yeah, you wait here, I’ll get your safehouse built.

3. There, it’s done. This will seem pretty familiar for anyone reading my previous
apocalypse challenge, but if it isn’t broke, no need to fix it.

4. Here on the ground level we have Dante’s car, which I will try not to lose.
There is also room for pet supplies for later.

5. First floor has our porch kitchen and our desk,
I’ll move the chess table upstairs later.
On the desk we have the checkbook to pay the mob
and the manuscript to write novels.

6. The second floor houses the master bedroom and nursery.
Outside on the balcony you can see two of the items brought back from college,
and the one item we found on the lot.
Dante still has two of the items we brought back in inventory.

7. The third floor is general living space. I will move the chess table up here later,
after Dante lifts Culinary.

8. The fourth floor will house future children.
We will get furniture as needed.

9. Lastly, we have the roof where all the career rewards will be stored.
At this point I ran into some issues, I lacked recolors for some of the items I
wanted
Dante to have, so I did some searching and relearned how to recolor items myself.

“Culinary is here, but it’s the last job.”
Just our luck.

11. What are you making?
“New clothes, these kind of suck.”
Yeah, I agree.

12. “If you know what’s good for you, you will pay us every Sunday.”
“Fine, just leave me alone.”
This is the mob boss I created to have someone to send the check’s to.

13. “Hey, did you know a zombie is behind you?”
“Really?”
“Yeah, I’ve got to go, it’s not safe.
You should get back inside and lock your door.”

14. I see you finished your clothes.
“Yeah, it didn’t take long.”

15. “You know I’ve never worked on cars before.”
Yeah, but you maxed your mechanical skill, so this should be easy for you.

16. “Easy to get dirty you mean.”
Oh well, just head inside and clean up.

17. “I miss being able to shower.”
Yeah, I know, but most likely you’ll never get to shower again.
“What? Why?”
You’re lifting Culinary so you can eat, Medical won’t get lifted until one of your kids
is an adult, and that all depends on you finding your job first.

18. “So I can really only make one meal a day?”
Yeah, and if your hungry again, you’ll have to
eat the leftovers, even if they’ve gone bad.
“Yuck!”

19. “Being in an apocalypse sucks.”
Yeah, I know. You work on getting your job and
we will be on our way to fixing this world.

20. In order to keep away the burglar, I’ve been trying to keep Dante up between the
hours of midnight and 4am. Although he really doesn’t have anything worth
stealing right now.

21. “Still no Culinary.”
Oh well, hopefully it will show up soon.

22. “Hey man, look at the snow, we should go skiing.”
“Are you crazy, it’s not safe out there.”

23. “One day this place will be haunted by ghosts.”
“Nah, man, ghosts ain’t real.”
He’ll learn one of these days.

24. As it is Tuesday, Dante calls over his fiance.
“Lola, I’ve missed you so much.”
“Dante, you’ve only been out of collage two days.”

25. “How are you managing at Sim State?”
“Oh, didn’t you hear, Sim State is gone. We’ve all been move to safehouses in the
new collage, but it’s really just a place to be, there aren’t any classes or anything.”

26. Did Lola go home already?
“Yeah, she has a curfew, I need to call her over earlier from now on.”

27. “There is still no Culinary jobs.”
I really hope it shows up soon.

28. I see you’ve almost finished your car.
“Yeah, I wasn’t as hard as I though. It’s a really dirty job though.”

29. Off in the distance you can see the mob’s safehouse.
“I really hope they don’t try to take my car.”
Yeah, me too.

30. It’s gotten really cold, you shouldn’t stay out too long.
“Yeah, I know.”

31. Aww, cute kitty, you should try to make friends.
We need a cat to help lift the pet restrictions.
“Ok, can I adopt him now?”
No, not until you lift hopelessness.

32. The cat’s name is Atlas. Hopefully he will come back later.

33. “Nope, still nothing, and nothing worth taking instead.”
Yeah, we’ve been checking every day, but all that’s been showing up are jobs that
we can’t take or worthless jobs for starting.

34. I see you’re learning new skills.
“Yeah, I have a lot of spare time. I need something to keep me busy.”

35. “Darn, it’s almost been a week, and I still haven’t found the job I need.”
It can take some time, just be patient.

36. “Ah, no, what else can go wrong?”
Do you really want to ask that question?

37. Dante, the trash can need picking up again.
“I know, I still don’t know who is knocking it down.”
I don’t know, it’s not like you have any enemies.

38. Dante? What’s wrong?
“Blarf…food poisoning…Blarf.”

39. “I feel much better now. Can we not eat anymore bad food?”
Yeah, I guess, you’re not really that hungry most of the time.

40. “Atlas, you came back, I wish I could keep you, but I can’t feed you.”
Well, hopefully he will come back later when we really need him.

41. “I hope so, he’s a good kitty.”
Hard to tell at this time, but I hope you’re right.

42. You’ve been jobless for about a week now, we may have to choose another job.
“I didn’t come up with a backup plan, did you?”
No, I really didn’t, I’ve been checking each job with you and
nothing that would make a good backup job has appeared.

43. Dante? Did you pay the mob?
“Yeah, I did that already, did you forget a picture?”
Yeah, looks like it.

45. “Mr. Calypso, here is your novel. Don’t expect to get paid anything.”
Yeah, even the publishing companies are crooks.

46. “Arg, why didn’t you wake me up sooner, that burglar stole my car.”
I’m sorry, I was in the process of waking you, but it went one minute
past twelve and than it was too late.

47. “Why did this have to happen to me?”
I know, I’m sorry, we’ve been here for a week and a half now and so far no luck.

48. Maybe our luck will change soon.
“I hope so.”
So what’s in the paper today?
“What’s the use…What! It’s there, it’s actually there!”

49. Dante starts at level 4, as a Host.

“Thanks, gotta go.”

50. Welcome home, Dante, how was your first day at work?
“Good, they promoted me to Waiter.”

51. “Hey Atlas, guess what? I got a job finally, maybe soon I can keep you.
You’d like that, wouldn’t you?”

52. “Again? I’m not fixing it now.”
Ok, but you’ll have to fix it later.

53. “Having a job is nice, they let me eat at work.”
That’s nice, extra food is good.
I stopped saving food, I didn’t want to take
the chance of Dante getting sick again.

54. “They are really happy to have a collage graduate, I don’t need to learn as much,
unlike most of their other employees.”
So did you get a promotion?
“Yeah, I’m a Prep Cook now.”

55. “They also sent home this reward.”
Yeah, we’ll keep it up here, its not useable right now anyways.

56. “I wish this sink wouldn’t break so much.”
Yeah, me too.

57. I see you’re trying to finish fixing up a car again.
“Yeah, we need to have a car available, If I miss the carpool I’ll get fired.”
Yeah, having a car will be handy.

58. Have a good day at work Dante.
“Thanks, see you later.”

59. “I’m back, I got promoted to Sous Chef.”
Nice.
“I’m kind of hungry though, they didn’t feed me at work.”

60. Bye Dante, Have a good day at work.
“Thanks.”

61. “Hey, I got promoted to Executive Chef.”
Nice, don’t forget to pay the mob, it is Sunday after all.
“I hate wasting money on them, your going to forget the picture again, aren’t you?”
Probably.

62. “Who is this lady and what is she doing?”
I think she is the mob boss’s wife.
And it looks like she’s stealing your paper.

63. “How dare you? You take my hard earned money,
and then you come over here and steal my paper!”
Calm down, Dante. That paper is worthless to you anyways.
“I don’t care.”

64. “Lola, I’ve missed you so much.”
Hmm, I must have missed Monday’s picture.
Dante was promoted to Restauranteur but
He has Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off.

65. “Oh, Lola, I really wish I could let you move in.”
“I wish I could too, but I just can’t, not yet.”

66. With a few days off, Dante has time to finish his second car.
“Please don’t let me lose this car too.”
I’ll do my best.

67. One of your friends is behind you, why don’t you let him come in and
warm up.
“Sure, I could use the company anyways.”

68. What did you just learn?
“Physiology.”
I remember there is a bug with learning that, but I think I have the fix in,
besides, Dante maxed his body in collage.

69. Go get us that last promotion, Dante.
“I’ll try.”

70. “I did it, I lifted Culinary and Hopelessness.”
That’s great, now you can eat more then one meal a day,
feed pets, cook dishes up to level 5 cooking, if its not restricted by another job.
And use birthday cakes.

71. You can also store food in the fridge and have an actual stove.
“Great, no more spoiled food.”

72. “Atlas, come back, I can adopt you now!”
Aw, we just missed him.

73. Good morning, Dante. I see you’re taking advantage of your new stove.
“Yeah, I was getting sick of hamburgers.”

74. Aw, Atlas came back.
“I’ve adopted him.”
Atlas stats:

Knows rollover, sit up, and use toilet.

75. What are you teaching him?
“I’m teaching him to speak, that way he can be a star in showbiz.”
The plan is that Atlas will lift showbiz so the future children can skill.

76. Aw, Atlas is a good kitty.
‘Meow, I good kitty’

77. “Play dead, convince them you’re really dead.”
‘Meow, like dis?’

78. Atlas really like playing with visiting strays, I think Dante was either at work or
sleeping at this time, he never got to meet this cat.

79. Even the paper girl likes Atlas.

80. “There’s no job for Atlas.”

81. At this point Dante has lived three quarters of his life and still has several days to
go before Lola can move in, so I let him have 3 sips of elixir of life.

82. Atlas likes playing with strays, but I’m getting sick of them eating all his food,
I’ll have to find a place inside to move it to.

83. Hmm, missed taking a few pictures again, we paid the mob 450$ on Sunday and
we found Atlas a job in Showbiz on Monday.
“Lola, please come over.”

84. “Move in with me? I’ve finally lifted Hopelessness!”
“Really, that’s great! Of course I’ll move in.”

85. “I love you Lola, please marry me.”
“Oh, Dante, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

86. Dante has about two weeks left till he ages up, so they get right to work on a baby.
“Shoo, let us have some privacy.”

87. Lola stats:

She’s a Family Sim, her lifetime want is to graduate 3 kids from collage.
Well, she’s never going to be platinum.

88. Why are you checking the paper?
“I thought maybe I could get a job in Education, that way my kids could go to high
school at least.”
Yeah, nice idea, but lets wait till you actually have kids,
your main job right now is to get us at least three kids.

89. Well, baby one is on its way. I missed her puking, she only did it once.

90. Atlas got promoted to Understudy.
“Meow, I gonna be a star.”

91. “You’re a good kitty, Atlas.”

92. Pretty sure I missed another picture.
Not sure if he’s coming or going.
He was definitely promoted to Understudy today.

93. Meanwhile, Lola only has one more day before the babies birth.
“I’m so big, and my needs keep dropping.”

94. Atlas was promoted to Stunt Double.
Only one more promotion to go.

95. “Dante, aaaah, it hurts.”
“I’m coming!”

96. Sorry about the lack of roof, game likes to glitch out when I turn it on, bounces me
up and down.
“Not now! We’re having a baby!”

97. And we have a baby boy. What are you going to name him?
“His name is Lucas.”

98. “Whose daddy’s little boy, you are.”

99. He needed his diaper changed, but when picked up
they couldn’t change it, so he gets a bath instead.
“There we go, all nice and clean.”

100. “Time to get big for daddy, Lucas.”
“My baby is growing up so fast, can I have another?”
Yeah, lets get this one grown, then we’ll see about another.

101. “Happy Birthday, Lucas!”

102. Lucas’s stats:

He has his fathers’ ears, so possible heir,
although, with limited children keeping the ears in the family may be impossible.
Going to try anyways.
