John came to Gentle Teaching International in the 1980s with new messages of hope for caregivers to become teachers of human presence and reward. Caregivers need to structure each person's day to provide multiple opportunities for teaching new skills or maintaining current skills, which can be rewarded through positive human interactions. Initially this requires a structured daily schedule and sufficient caregivers to carry out individualized "programs" to ensure success and make their presence rewarding. In their 20th year, Gentle Teaching took on a project to research the networks of those they supported and found that relationships and involving committed family and friends in people's dreams were priorities and sources of great ideas for supporting people to live self-directed lives. Learning to understand ourselves: an inquiry into feelingsclairweston
The Kindergarten child enters a new classroom environment,
encountering the new faces of children and teachers. As
facilitator the teacher becomes aware of the process and
journey through which the individual identity of each child
will need to be celebrated and shared, in order for the group identity or class community to emerge, develop and grow. The individual child needs to be given many opportunities to discover his or her own identity to enable him or her to feel comfortable to share with the group. We were determined to continue on this path of identity, because we knew that the young child’s thoughts are continually evolving. We wanted to pursue the notion of what it is to be somebody. We could see the children’s faces. We were able to identify a sense of self but what was that child really like? A sense of self has to develop gradually. Being yourself is about knowing who you are. Fortunately time is a component that will play a huge role in the path of this investigation that we have chosen.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

T H E O R Y U
A framework for learning,
innovating, leading, and
profound systems change.
Theory U is the framework
that shapes the entire
Deep U program and
guides participants during
its three main phases:
“observe, observe,
observe”, “retreat & reflect”
and “act in an instant”.
M I N D F U L N E S S
Since the first moment,
participants are invited to
be fully aware of their
inner experience and
what surrounds them,
with an attitude of
kindness and curiosity.
Several practices done
during the program also
allow to anchor that
presence.

Heartfulness is the “invisible
part” that “fuels” the whole
program, connecting
people to the Source. The
participants are introduced
to Heartfulness meditation
through three initial sittings
and also learn
complementary
techniques like Relaxation
and Cleaning.
