In 2013, I had a thought... and from a simple thought, I devised a plan. During my 14-month placement at Microsoft, I took on a 3 day challenge to cycle 330 miles from London to Paris. However, instead of doing it on my own and with no purpose, I wanted to take it one step further. Therefore, I decided to assemble a team of 4 enthusiasts and give our ride a purpose - to raise £14,000 for the UK Youth Charity.
A simple idea suddenly transformed into an 8 month project - a cycling challenge that consisted of countless training miles, numerous fundraising and promotion activities, 200+ supporters and sponsors, senior leadership buy-in and one big accomplishment - £15,000 raised and 330 miles conquered in 3 days in sweat, tears, mud and with no injury.

P6 finalists Ben, Rachel and Cai competed to win the Steven Lui cup for Burns Recital at the P4-7 Assembly on Friday 29th January 2016. All three contenders were outstanding, giving an exceptionally high standard of performance. The closely run decision was taken to award Rachel with the cup for her very confident delivery and stage presence. Well done to all!
Jonathan in P7B, assisted by Sam, gave a superb account of how he set about achieving the 'Me and My World' section of his Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS) award by supporting local charity Re-Act Scotland. An exemplary model for other pupils to follow.

Org Design is a core skill to be mastered by management for any successful org change.
Org Topologies™ in its essence is a two-dimensional space with 16 distinctive boxes - atomic organizational archetypes. That space helps you to plot your current operating model by positioning individuals, departments, and teams on the map. This will give a profound understanding of the performance of your value-creating organizational ecosystem.

The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.

41. The moment you start seeing life as non-serious, a playfulness, all the burden on your heart
disappears. All the fear of death, of life, of love - everything disappears. One starts living with a
very light weight or almost no weight. So weightless one becomes, one can fly in the open sky.
Playfulness greatest contribution is to give you an alternative to the serious man. The serious
man has made the world, the serious man has made all the religions. He has created all the
philosophies, all the cultures, all the moralities; everything that exists around you is a creation of
the serious man. But playfulness has dropped out of the serious world. It has created a world of
its own which is very playful, full of laughter, where even great masters behave like children.
Life is rarely as serious as we believe it to be, and when we recognize this fact, it responds by
giving us more and more opportunities to play.
We have to celebrate the joy of being alive, like a butterfly that has emerged from its chrysalis
into the promise of the light. Playfulness reminds us of the time when we were children,
discovering seashells on the beach or building castles in the sand without any concern that the
waves might come and wash them away in the next moment. Life is a game, and we have to play
the part of a child right now with no sense of embarrassment or pretense.
When playfulness enters your life, it is a sign that you are ready for the fresh and the new.
Something wonderful is just on the horizon, and you have just the right quality of playful
innocence and clarity to welcome it with open arms.
