Hungarian Web Conference: HTML5 beyond the hype - let's make it work!Christian Heilmann
We're past the honeymoon period of HTML5 by now. The excitement of inflated promises is over and we start wondering what to do – use HTML5 or just build an iOS app instead? In this talk Chris Heilmann of Mozilla will show what HTML5 is really good for, what its problems are, what causes a lot of these problems and how new operating systems like Firefox OS work and conversion tools like PhoneGap work around these issues. You'll see the now of HTML5 and what is cooking in the kitchens of browser makers and standards bodies that will developing and deploying apps cross-platform much easier than it is now. We have a lot of tools at our disposal, we simply need to dare to use them.
TechSEO Boost 2018: Watching Googlebot Watching You: Optimizing with Server LogsCatalyst
We've all spent hours listening and researching how Google says they interact with our sites. Server logs are a critical view into how Googlebot actually interacts with your sites. Learn how to identify different Googlebot behaviors, crawl waste, and optimization opportunities.

Stefan Judis "Did we(b development) lose the right direction?"Fwdays
Keeping up with the state of web technology is one of the biggest challenges for us developers today. We invent new tools; we define new best practices, everything’s new, always... And we do all that for good user experience! We do all that to build the best possible web – it’s all about our users.
But is it, really? Or do developers like to play with technology secretly loving the new and shiny? Or do we only pretend that it’s about users, and behind closed doors, it’s developer experience that matters to us? Did we lose direction? Is it time for a critical look at the state of the web and the role JavaScript plays in it?
Building Gutenberg Applications & WebOPS Case StudyRoy Sivan
In this talk I go over my Gutenberg Object Plugin and discuss the need for it. I go over a case study for Aistream which Web Ops and Gutenberg played big roles
Presentation for the Iowa Small Libraries online conference in January 2010 covering strategies for libraries in difficult economic times: project management, project assessment, marketing strategies, and free web tools & software to save libraries money.
Content Security Policies are another tool we should have in our security toolbelt to help protect users of our sites. In this session you’ll learn what they are, why they’re needed, how they work and the limitations on what they can & cannot do to protect users.
You’ll see a demo of attacks a CSP will block, you’ll see a site broken by a CSP, show what the different CSP directives & options will do and be introduced to some of the tools available to help with implementing a CSP on your sites!
Put the Internet of Things to Work Using IFTTT, Amazon Echo, and other tools.St. Petersburg College
IFTTT, pronounced like the word GIFT, will automate tasks based around the 'If This Then That' statement. In other words, IFTTT puts the Internet to work for you by generating simple connections with online products that you use every day. Going further, Amazon Echo and other digital assistants are technologies that you didn’t know you needed until now and they work very well with IFTTT. In this webinar:
• Understand what the Internet of Things is and how it will change the world.
• Learn how to use IFTTT to connect with a variety of products and services.
• Explore other automating tools like Zapier, Hootsuite, Buffer and others.
• Gain access to resources to help you become more efficient online.
Everything you wanted to know about making an R package but were afraid to askEmily Robinson
Why should you make a package? What tools can help you? How can you make your package better? How do you let people know about it? In this talk, given at NY R Conference 2019, I cover my answers to all these questions.
People willing to add new features to their websites have too much of a choice. Choosing and testing addons is a task that requires either developer-superpowers and a unlimited budget or blind faith and dumb luck. In this talk we'll find out how to walk the middle ground and live to tell the tale.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
