SALVATION AND
ETERNAL LIFE

LUKE 18:18-26
Luke 18:18 A certain ruler asked him,
"Good teacher, what must I do to
inherit eternal life?"
Luke 18:19 Why do you call me good?
Jesus answered. "No one is good--except
God alone.
Luke 18:20 You know the
commandments: 'Do not commit
adultery, do not murder, do not steal,
do not give false testimony, honor your
father and mother.' "

Luke 18:21 All these I have
kept since I was a boy, he said.
Luke 18:22 When Jesus heard
this, he said to him, "You still
lack one thing. Sell everything
you have and give to the poor,
and you will have treasure in
heaven. Then come, follow me."

of great wealth.

hard it is for the rich to

1John 2:19 They went out
from us, but they did not
really belong to us. For if
they had belonged to us,
they would have remained
with us; but their going
showed that none of them
belonged to us.

(ISV) They left us, but they
were not part of us, for if
they had been part of us,
they would have stayed
with us. They simply made
it clear that none of them
was really part of us.

1.) THE GIFT OF ETERNAL
LIFE AND SALVATION IS
IRREVOCABLE
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace
you have been saved, through
faith--and this not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God--
not by works, so that no one can
boast.

Romans 6:23 For the
wages of sin is death, but
the gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
Romans 11:29 for God's
gifts and his call are
irrevocable

2.)THE RELATIONSHIP “FATHER
-CHILD” IS PERMANENTLY
ETERNAL.
John 1:12 Yet to all who received him,
to those who believed in his name, he
gave the right to become children
of God--
John 1:13 children born not of natural
descent, nor of human decision or a
husband's will, but born of God.
note: You are a child of God forever !

3.) THE SPIRIT THAT IS MADE
ALIVE IS ETERNAL.
BORN-AGAIN IS
IRREVERSIBLE.
1Corinthians15:22 For as in Adam all
die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
Romans 8:10 But if Christ is in you,
your body is dead because of sin, yet
your spirit is alive because of
righteousness

Ephesians 2:5 made us alive with
Christ even when we were dead in
transgressions--it is by grace you
have been saved.
Colossians 2:13 When you were
dead in your sins and in the
uncircumcision of your sinful
nature, God made you alive with
Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

John 3:3 In reply Jesus
declared, "I tell you the truth,
no one can see the kingdom of
God unless he is born again. "

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but
the Spirit[a] gives birth to
spirit.

2Corinthians 4:18 So we

glorified.

The gatekeeper opens
the gate for him, and
the sheep listen to his
voice. He calls his own
sheep by name and
leads them out.

5.) THE DOCTRINE OF
PREDESTINATION AND
ELECTION
note: This doctrine does
not make sense and cannot
be adopted by anyone who
believes in losing salvation

Romans 8:29 For those God
foreknew he also predestined to
be conformed to the likeness of
his Son, that he might be the
firstborn among many brothers.
Romans 8:30 And those he
predestined, he also called; those
he called, he also justified; those
he justified, he also glorified.

Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he
did predestinate, them he also
called: and whom he called, them
he also justified: and whom he
justified, them he also glorified.
NOTE: the word “ predestinate”
is the Greek word “ PROORIZO”
which means predetermine, or
determine before and ordain

Ephesians 1:4-5 For he chose us in
him before the creation of the world to
be holy and blameless in his sight. In
love he predestined us for adoption to
sonship through Jesus Christ, in
accordance with his pleasure and will
Ephesians 1:11 In him we were also
chosen, having been predestined
according to the plan of him who works
out everything in conformity with the
purpose of his will,

2Peter 1:10 Therefore,
my brothers, be all the
more eager to make your
calling and election sure.
For if you do these things,
you will never fall,

CANNOT BE SNATCHED BY
ANYONE
John 10:28 I give them eternal life,

snatch them out of my hand.
John 10:29 My Father, who has given
them to me, is greater than all; no one
can snatch them out of my Father's
hand.

MORE POWERFUL
HANDS THAN THE

7.) THE SEAL OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT
NOTE: YOU are sealed by
the Holy Spirit
2Timothy2:19 Nevertheless the
foundation of God standeth sure,
having this seal, The Lord knoweth
them that are his. And, Let every
one that nameth the name of
Christ depart from iniquity. ,

Ephesians 1:13 And you
also were included in Christ
when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your
salvation. Having believed,
you were marked in him
with a seal, the promised
Holy Spirit,

2 Corinthians 1:21-22
Now it is God who makes both
us and you stand firm in Christ.
He anointed us, set his seal of
ownership on us, and put his
Spirit in our hearts as a
deposit, guaranteeing what is to
come.

note: The word “seal” is
the Greek word
“sphragizo” which has
the meaning of TO
STAMP (with a signet
or private mark ) FOR
SECURITY OR
PRESERVATION.

8.) THE FAITHFULNESS OF
GOD TO COMPLETE WHAT
HE STARTED
Philippians 1:6 being confident
of this, that he who began a
good work in you will carry it on
to completion until the day of
Christ Jesus.

1Corinthians 1:9
God, who has called
you into fellowship
with his Son Jesus
Christ our Lord, is
faithful.

Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix
our eyes on Jesus, the
author and perfecter of our
faith, who for the joy set
before him endured the
cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God

(KJV) Looking unto Jesus
the author and finisher of
our faith; who for the joy
that was set before him
endured the cross,
