Debbie Walker is a life-long learner with a diverse career in design.
Her experience spans from large international advertising agencies to
one of the largest fortune 100 companies in the world. With each
experience Debbie has been given priceless knowledge into the
creative process and pipeline standards across hundreds of brands,
products and services.
Upon graduating with an AAS in Graphic Design from Oklahoma State
University, Debbie has been able to apply her degree both to advertising
agencies as well as several corporations. She has experience designing:
trade shows, direct mail campaigns, integrated promotions, advertising,
digital art, illustration, marketing strategies, production, packaging,
signage, brand identities, point of purchase, events, new business
pitches, and web design.
Several years into her career, Debbie was given an unexpected
opportunity to become a Senior Textile Design Manager. For a total of
four years in this role she traveled internationally twice a year for
production meetings and once a quarter, domestically, for trend
development and competitive analysis. She was responsible for leading
domestic print sales across all of ladies apparel while managing up to six
direct reports.
A new division led Debbie to another unique career opportunity, this time
as a Senior Integration Design Manager for a new Customer Experience
Division of Walmart. This opportunity allowed Debbie the chance to start
putting all of her knowledge and experience together in a larger creative
platform. Over the next four years, she designed integrated
merchandising solutions for the remodeling of Walmart stores. Anything
from paint colors, to store layout designs to permanent fixtures and
signage. She learned new software, built internal and external networks,
develop processes, manage contractors and mentor teammates. She
also learned to read CAD drawings, schematics and elevations, while
working with contractors and architects to integrate across nearly every
division of Walmart’s operations. From conceptual strategic designs
through final store completion, Debbie stayed current with legal
compliances and incorporated insights and innovation into each project.
After eight years with Walmart, Debbie decided it was time to invest in
herself by reaching a personal goal to achieve her BSA.
At the end of 2017, she graduated with honors from Full Sail University,
and is currently working as a 3D modeler to gain industry experience.
At this time Debbie is seeking a long-term opportunity with a company
that she can grow with and that may utilize her vast experience and
education to their fullest advantage.
When she’s not working, Debbie likes to SCUBA dive, go to comedy
clubs, practice photography, paint, write fictional stories, brainstorm
ideas, get lost, invent things, and binge watch all her favorite shows.
