Dcarbon Egypt is happy to share with all of its stakeholders the journey of 2019. A year full
of hard work, passion and achievements!!!!!
WE, for us INCLUDS OUR ALL OF OUR STAKHOLDERS, worked on all levels
with; Private sector, Public sector, IOs, CSOs and in all sectors; Banking, Oil & Gas, FMCG,
Petrochemicals, Telecom, and ICT, on imbedding the culture of sustainability in Egypt. We
didn’t save effort in utilizing different tools including among others; partnerships on the
national, regional and global levels, awareness raising through public events and seminars,
capacity building through globally recognized and certified training programs, consultations
on sustainability and climate change strategies and policies, mitigation policies and projects,
reporting on sustainability and carbon footprint and developing digital tools, in addition to
assurance services.
WE credit these achievements to our believe that stems from our guiding principles; “WE will
bring science into business; and shall provide each and every stakeholder not only with equal
opportunity to share in the proceeds of growth and development, but shall also provide each
and every stakeholder with equal opportunity to share in planning, implementing and
developing the means of achieving growth and development, for himself, his organization, his
company and Egypt.

January
1st Round! OIL and Gas Sector Modernization Project
As a part of the Oil & Gas sector Modernization project and Egypt Strategy 2030,
DCarbon in cooperation with Oil & Gas Skills “OGS” provided a set of trainings and
workshops on the preparation of Sustainability reports tailored for the Egyptian Oil
& Gas Sector.
Over the 3 days, the following topics were addressed:
1 - Sustainability Impact Assessment provided by Dr. Ehab Shalaby
2 - Economic Impact Assessment provided by prof Dr. Ahmed Belal
3 - Environmental Impact Assessment provided by our expert Hesham Eissa
4 - Social Impact Assessment provided by our expert May Elwany
5 - Health, safety & Environment provided by Eng. Sheri Hafez
The workshops were designed specifically for the HSE groups in the Egyptian Oil &
Gas Sector.

DCarbon Egypt in cooperation with RISC Legal Academy are bridging gaps and
connecting generations! Hosting their 4th Annual Legal Web Conference on the 23rd
of March.
This year’s slogan was “Law & Sustainable Development: Tackling The Role of the
Legal Society in Attracting FDIs.”
Introducing two new panels on Sustainable Finance and on Financial Technology
powered by Dcarbon Egypt, Environment and Sustainability Consultancy.
The panels aim to discuss the legal and regulatory challenges and opportunities
needed to undertake such new trends and adapt to them.

Dr. Ehab Shalaby – Chairman of DCarbon Egypt, Dr. Hesham Eissa – Co-founder of
DCarbon Egypt and Expert in Climate Change participated on two different panels at
the 8th Egypt CSR Forum discussing the “know-how” of preparing sustainable
development reports based on the GRI Standards, and the role of the private sector in
addressing the issue of climate change and the different emission reduction scenarios.

July
A cooperation protocol has been signed between RISC Legal Academy, DCarbon
Egypt and Links & Gains Law Firm.
The protocol will see both DCarbon and Links & Gains enhancing the Oil & Gas
Sector in regards to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and
Paris agreement. The Protocol has been signed by Dr. Ehab Shalaby, Chairman of
DCarbon, and Mohamed Agamy, Managing Partner of Links & Gains Law Firm.
Furthermore, Links & Gains and DCarbon in this cooperation have launched together
with an awareness workshop the economic, social, environmental and legal dimensions
on Sustainable Development Goals to the Ministry of Petroleum and Egypt General
Petroleum Company.
The event was attended by 62 Oil & Gas companies hosted by ECHEM on the 25th of
June 2019. The workshop of the Sustainable Development Goals of UN presented the
implementation of an integrated strategy that addresses in terms of the economic,
social and environmental and legal dimensions of sustainable development, as well as
way of reporting, regulatory and policies.
The cooperation would be a strong strategic fit, leveraging the two firms respective
strengths, across the implementation of the UN 17 Goals of the Sustainable
Development which will, therefore, play a key role in planning the future of Egypt's
sustainable development until 2030. It will also enable Egypt to compare the extent to
which the goals of sustainable development 2030 are achieved at the international level
which is considered a major driver for attracting foreign direct investments

October Dr. Ahmed Belal – Co-founder of DCarbon Egypt and Expert in Economics
Participated in a seminar organized by the Center of Economic & Finance Research
Studies “CEFRS” discussing “The relationship between corporate sustainability and
sustainable development” while focusing on the role of the private sector in achieving
the sustainable development Goals.

Dr. Hesham Eissa – Co-founder of DCarbon Egypt and Expert in Climate Change
discussed the significant role of Africa and Egypt in tackling the issue of climate

consecutive days “GRI Sustainability Reporting Training” attended by 25
participants from the Oil & Gas Sector representing EGPC , AMAPETCO , PPC ,
MIDTAP , EGAS , ANOPC, NORPETCO & KHALDA PETROLEUM.
