Texas Health Resources has announced a new name - The Research and Education Institute for Texas Health Resources (TREI) - and a new president, Russell Poland, for its research organization. TREI will expand its focus to include new population-based research studies, increased continuing medical education opportunities, and a clearinghouse for research opportunities. It will also continue clinical trials research and product evaluation. The $1 million grant from the AT&T Foundation will support implementation of an electronic medical records system and health lectures. He is a board-certified neurologist and has conducted research for more than 15 years on the surgical and pharmaceutical treatments of Parkinson’s disease.
