Chris feels uncomfortable, but does not want to be rude, so answers the questions.. Chris gets off the bus and so does the stranger. The stranger walks with Chris continuing to try to make conversation. When they get get to an alley crossing the stranger pulls Chris into the alley. The stranger holds Chris against the wall and covers Chris' mouth. The stranger tells Chris “stay quiet or I will hurt you. I have a knife. I know that you want me.” The stranger rapes Chris. What are your feelings about this scenario?

9. Dating violence is controlling, abusive, and aggressive behavior in a romantic relationship. It occurs in both heteroseuxal and homosexual relationships and can include verbal, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, or a combination of these behaviors. Teen Dating Violence Definition

10. Teen Dating Violence Statistics: One of five teens in a serious relationship reports having been hit, slapped, or pushed by a partner. Roughly one in 10 (9%)teens has been verbally or physically abused by a boyfriend or girlfriend who was drunk or high. 14% Of teens report having been threatened with physical harm- either to them or self inflicted by their partner- to avoid a breakup. Teens identifying as gay, lesbian, and bisexual are as likely to experience violence in same-sex dating. All 50 states have laws against dating violence- associated crimes such as sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. 35 States allow minors to obtain civil protection orders against dating partners, with various restrictions depending upon the age of the minor .

12. Teen Dating violence scenario: Kathy and tony have been dating for the past 3 months. Kathy waits for Tony to get out of basketball practice so they could walk home together. Today Kathy can not wait for Tony because she just received a message from her mother telling her to get home as soon as class is over because they have to go visit her grandmother who is sick. Kathy does not have enough time to find Tony to let him know about the situation. When Kathy is done with school she finds a group of girlfriends to walk home with, thinking that she could explain herself to Tony better if she is seen with her girlfriends instead alone. Before Tony is done with basketball practice, he has already been made aware that Kathy has left without him and during the last half of practice all he can think about is “what is she doing?” Once he is done with practice he attempts to call her at home but, no one answers. Not knowing where she was made him angry. And his friends did not help the matter when they start making fun of him and insinuated that Kathy was with another guy. The next day, Tony was in the hallway with his team mates as Kathy walked by. Tony immediately ran towards her and pushed her against the lockers, holding her by the neck, asking who she was with yesterday.
