Parliamentarianism is a form of government where the executive power comes from a majority in the legislature. Venstre is Norway's oldest political party, founded in 1884 and currently the smallest party in Parliament. Høyre is also a Norwegian conservative party formed in 1884, it is traditionally the biggest party and places itself on the right of the political spectrum.
