At the heart of the exhibition are selected works from Andy Warhol’s
Car-series, to which are added a selection of collages, objects,
sculptures and videos showing various variations in terms of subject
matter and media on the theme of “Cars and Art”. With works from

(*1963/USA), Vincent Szarek (*1973/USA), Andy Warhol (1927-
1987/USA)
Dr. Renate Wiehager, head of the Daimler Art Collection: “Andy
Warhol’s CARS series, created in 1986, puts the Pop artist at the
heart of the Daimler Art Collection. It was the prelude to other
collaborations on the subject of ‘the automobile’ with famous artists
such as Robert Longo, Sylvie Fleury and Vincent Szarek, which now
represent a significant subgroup within our collection. “We are
pleased to be able to present these extraordinary artistic treatments
of 'Cars and Art' in Neumarkt, now with a number of additional
original artworks concerned with the history, design and aesthetics
of the automobile.”
Anna Hofmann, executive director of the Museum for Historic
Maybach-Vehicles GmbH: “The crème de la crème of motoring in the
form of historic Maybach vehicles coming together with artworks by
a major artist like Andy Warhol can only be described as a very
special meeting of leaders in their field. In fact, it is hard to imagine
how it could be improved on.”

Contemporary exhibition space at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, and at
international museums – New York, Karlsruhe, Detroit,
Johannesburg, Tokyo, Singapore, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.
Grants are awarded to upcoming artists with the aim of
communicating the Daimler Art Collection
to a wide audience.
The Museum for Historic Maybach Vehicles presents an exhibition
on the life stories and the products of the car designers Karl and
Wilhelm Maybach. The approximately 2500 m² of exhibition space
contains exhibits that illustrate the history of Maybach motor
construction – the vehicles, the motors and the gears. This
chronologically organized exhibition contains 18 to 20 Maybach
vehicles in all kinds of states – from a gutted vehicle of the type
sometimes found in a barn to a concourse classic.
