Volume is the amount of space an object occupies. It is measured in cubic centimeters, milliliters, or liters. Volume can be measured for irregularly shaped objects by either measuring the water displaced when the object is submerged, or calculating the difference between the total volume of water and object and just the water. Changing an object's shape can affect its volume.
