1. Provided support to District Education Officers, Implementing Partners,
potential local CBOs , NGOs to activate Education clusters in their respective
districts with in the Offices of Education Department for sharing the updated
response information with specific areas to avoid the duplication of resources.
2. Assisted clusters partners , DEOs, IPs, District Govt, PDMA , Local CBOs,
NGOs for undertaking the rapid emergency assessment with in 12 Flood
affected Districts and reviewed the impact assessment data in clusters
meetings and identified priority needs,Targted number of Flood affected
Children with available education opportunities and potential constraints on
immediate Education Emergency Response.
3. Supported to IPs, DEOs to Strengthening Emergency Response Mechanisms
and contributed in emergency preparedness planning meetings.
4. Provided support in developing a clear strategy for education response, both
in the immediate and longer term, gave special attention to marginalized
children and took into official education policies and plans through this
streamlined 99% TLCs 43% First timers children from Temporary Learning
Centers streamlined in regular Education system and children got General
Register Numbers in school register.
5. Provided support to DEOs / IPs for submitting supplies demands according to
their targets with proper preparing distributing supplies plans for 1,02500
children and 2100 TLCs. At the end all the supplies have been received by
Section from other provinces and Country Office and delivered at 2100 TLCs
and used by 102500 Children in the IDPs camps and also in retunee villages
of IDPs.
6. Conducted workshops of Field staff of IPs and Education Deptt for developing
the strategy for streamlining of TLCs, finalizing proposals for shifting TLCs
from IDPs camps to near by retunee villages of IDPs, formats for the
monitoring of TLCs and develop joint monitoring plans of IPs & Education
Field teams developed in thses workshops. The impact of these workshops,
99% TLCs were streamlined with 97% Children in which 42% First timers who
never been attended school before floods.
7. Developed a monitoring and evaluation system to track education emergency
response status and promote periodic reviews of education progress
highlighting strengths, weaknesses and lessons learned. Used participatory
techniques with children, parents and teachers to identify suitable community-
based activities that provide a safe, child-friendly environment for children in
programme locations in IDPs camps and Flood Affected villages. The impact
of the efforts, I reported Education response status on daily basis to HoS and
also responded to all the question raised related with response.
8. Followed IPs to Work closely with communities and Education Department
to establish safe settings for teachers trainings activities and mobilized train
teachers in TLCs with education volunteers, youth workers. Ensured children
and their parent’s participation in selection of TLCs location. Thorugh this
more 2200 local and Government Teachers were trained during Education
Emergency Response. Around 2300 M/F Teachers were trained during the
response period.
9. Contributed in other sectors to develop applicable education materials on
health education, safety, child protection, Wash, children’s friendly other
relevant subjects. Also developed plans and arranged event for C4D
Education team of CO.
10. Assisted Belgium TV Channel team in the flood affected ares of district dadu
and Jamshoro and they developed a documentary on the problems facing by
children in the floods and highlighlighted Education response impact on the
children. Tv channel team members gave positive feedback to Shahla and
Andro Former CFO Sindh after returned from Field.
11. Contributed being as in charge HoS Education during 2012-13 Liaised with
relevant education authorities and participated in Cluster coordination, other
agencies/NGOs meetings, responded queries related to operations, planning
and also presented PCAs in PCRC for their review and approval and
finalized I did get approvals.
12. Arranged high level delegation’s Field visits in North and South Sindh Flood
affected areas and successfully I did it and visitors appreciated Education
team’s efforts and committed in district and provincial level meetings for
allocating more funds for Education response.

Project: Acceleration of Girls Education (AGE) Project
(19th
Sept 2005 to Sept 19 / 2010).
Collaboration with the Ministry of Education on a UNICEF funded project to improve
access to quality primary education for girls, aged between 5 to 9 years. The project was
implemented in Five Districts, Mirpurkhas was one of them.. The primary goal of the
project was to increase girls' enrollment in government primary schools through
enhancing parental awareness regarding girls education; and developing systems for
generating greater resources for educating the girl child.
Major activities carried out through the implementing parter SAFWCO / SSEWA-PAK
Mirpurkhas and District Education Department GoS.
1. Developed data base of OOS Children in the District through DEMIS.
2. Identified closed schools with reason of their closure.
3. Identified missing facilities in the Primary schools at UC level and held meetings
with UC Nazims and councilors for setting priorities in EFA Plans to provide clean
safe drinking water with lavatory blocks , Boundry walls in Primary schools in
their UCs.
4. Prepared 41 EFA plans and got approval from UC to Zila Council for allocation of
funds in their annual Budget for the rehabilitation of missing facilities which were
identified in the EFA plans.
5. Carried out field monitoring of activities according the approved PCAs ,
community mobilization, enrolment campaigns/drives, trainings and workshops;
and monitor distribution of school supplies and ensure end user received and
using these supplies.
6. Supported to Education Department in developing the reporting mechanism at
the district level, inclusive of establishing and maintaining a database on basic
data on enrolment, student flow rates (repetition, drop out and promotion) and
attendance of children enrolled in schools last year on a monthly basis and build
their capacity in consolidating information concerning Primary Schools i.e.
Develop and ensure linkages with district EMIS and District Education
Management Information System (DEMIS) in order to generate monthly progress
report.
7. Coordinated with DEO, NGO partners for the storage, distribution and correct
utilization of schools supplies at in all the selected Government schools. Devise
and maintain a district based supply tracking system followed by a continuous
monitoring to ensure that schools supplies are timely received and utilized by end
beneficiaries and recorded in the dead stock register. Coordinate with Education
Department for the preparation of redeployment plans of teachers and ensure
provision of teachers at CFSs and even open the closed Primary Girls schools.
5. Co-ordinated monthly review meetings at district and taluka level between DEO,
DC, SDEOs and other implementing partners and follow-up on the minutes. Hold
regular meetings with NGOs to review progress of activities on a weekly basis
and provide support in building their capacity for social mobilization for
enrolment, verification of data and close liaison with the DEO Education.
6. Assisted the Education Department and other partners in preparing requests for
advance, distribution of funds and submission of accounts to UNICEF as per
UNICEF financial rules, as needed. Prepare monthly plans and monthly progress
reports along with pictures & case studies and submit to the Education Officers in
UNICEF, Karachi.
7. During 2006 Rain Flood Emergency situation at Mirpurkhas, provided support to
District Government to establish IDPs Camps in Government Schools and
developed data base of Flood affected children in the area.
8. Co-ordinate high level mission visits and develop field visit plans.
9. Got regular guidance from the Education Specialist, UNICEF, Karachi, on all
matters related to:
 Implementation and monitoring of activities.
 Relationships with partners in the District.
 Field activities plans
 Any other tasks assigned for Education in Emergency
Or in regular programme.
Major achievements
1. Reduced drop out of school girls ratio in Primary Schools.
2. Improved retention and completion rates in girls
3. Improved performance of girls in learning achievement (Primary Leaving)
4. Evaluation demonstrates robust and sustainable results for the education
system.
5. Developed 41 EFA plans with Union Council Nazims at UC level and than
submitted at District Assembly and got approval from it for further
implementation on it.
6. Through campaigns enrolled 50000 First time OOS (Girls / Boys 5-9 ) were
enrolled in the Primary schools.
7. 60 Early Childhood Education (ECE)Classes in 60 selected GGPS for CFSs.
8. Identified 150 Girls Primary Schools which were closed due to non availability of
local female teachers, suggested local females names to department for the
opening of these schools and Dept hired 150 volunteer females as teachers in
closed Girls schools and functionalized these schools, more than 8000 gilrs,
boys were enroll in these schools.
9. Selected 60 GGPS for creating Child Friendly Environment.
10. Provided support to DG during rain Flood emergency situation appeared in 2006
at Mirpurkhas and against it received appreciation letter from DCO behalf of
DG..
11. Nominated member of different committees from DG for enhancing the quality of
Education in the district.
12. Conducted SMCs trainings, and functionalized 150 SMCs in Primary Girls /
Boys Schools 2005-2009.
13. Provided technical support to DEOs for preparing redeployment plans of excess
teachers to open the closed schools, more than 78 closed schools opened
through our suggested redeployment plans.

  • 7. JOB HISTORY District Education Coordinator (UNICEF) District Mirpurkhas Project: Acceleration of Girls Education (AGE) Project (19th Sept 2005 to Sept 19 / 2010). Collaboration with the Ministry of Education on a UNICEF funded project to improve access to quality primary education for girls, aged between 5 to 9 years. The project was implemented in Five Districts, Mirpurkhas was one of them.. The primary goal of the project was to increase girls' enrollment in government primary schools through enhancing parental awareness regarding girls education; and developing systems for generating greater resources for educating the girl child. Major activities carried out through the implementing parter SAFWCO / SSEWA-PAK Mirpurkhas and District Education Department GoS. 1. Developed data base of OOS Children in the District through DEMIS. 2. Identified closed schools with reason of their closure. 3. Identified missing facilities in the Primary schools at UC level and held meetings with UC Nazims and councilors for setting priorities in EFA Plans to provide clean safe drinking water with lavatory blocks , Boundry walls in Primary schools in their UCs. 4. Prepared 41 EFA plans and got approval from UC to Zila Council for allocation of funds in their annual Budget for the rehabilitation of missing facilities which were identified in the EFA plans. 5. Carried out field monitoring of activities according the approved PCAs , community mobilization, enrolment campaigns/drives, trainings and workshops; and monitor distribution of school supplies and ensure end user received and using these supplies. 6. Supported to Education Department in developing the reporting mechanism at the district level, inclusive of establishing and maintaining a database on basic data on enrolment, student flow rates (repetition, drop out and promotion) and attendance of children enrolled in schools last year on a monthly basis and build their capacity in consolidating information concerning Primary Schools i.e. Develop and ensure linkages with district EMIS and District Education Management Information System (DEMIS) in order to generate monthly progress report. 7. Coordinated with DEO, NGO partners for the storage, distribution and correct utilization of schools supplies at in all the selected Government schools. Devise and maintain a district based supply tracking system followed by a continuous monitoring to ensure that schools supplies are timely received and utilized by end beneficiaries and recorded in the dead stock register. Coordinate with Education Department for the preparation of redeployment plans of teachers and ensure provision of teachers at CFSs and even open the closed Primary Girls schools.
  • 8. 5. Co-ordinated monthly review meetings at district and taluka level between DEO, DC, SDEOs and other implementing partners and follow-up on the minutes. Hold regular meetings with NGOs to review progress of activities on a weekly basis and provide support in building their capacity for social mobilization for enrolment, verification of data and close liaison with the DEO Education. 6. Assisted the Education Department and other partners in preparing requests for advance, distribution of funds and submission of accounts to UNICEF as per UNICEF financial rules, as needed. Prepare monthly plans and monthly progress reports along with pictures & case studies and submit to the Education Officers in UNICEF, Karachi. 7. During 2006 Rain Flood Emergency situation at Mirpurkhas, provided support to District Government to establish IDPs Camps in Government Schools and developed data base of Flood affected children in the area. 8. Co-ordinate high level mission visits and develop field visit plans. 9. Got regular guidance from the Education Specialist, UNICEF, Karachi, on all matters related to:  Implementation and monitoring of activities.  Relationships with partners in the District.  Field activities plans  Any other tasks assigned for Education in Emergency Or in regular programme. Major achievements 1. Reduced drop out of school girls ratio in Primary Schools. 2. Improved retention and completion rates in girls 3. Improved performance of girls in learning achievement (Primary Leaving) 4. Evaluation demonstrates robust and sustainable results for the education system. 5. Developed 41 EFA plans with Union Council Nazims at UC level and than submitted at District Assembly and got approval from it for further implementation on it. 6. Through campaigns enrolled 50000 First time OOS (Girls / Boys 5-9 ) were enrolled in the Primary schools. 7. 60 Early Childhood Education (ECE)Classes in 60 selected GGPS for CFSs. 8. Identified 150 Girls Primary Schools which were closed due to non availability of local female teachers, suggested local females names to department for the opening of these schools and Dept hired 150 volunteer females as teachers in closed Girls schools and functionalized these schools, more than 8000 gilrs, boys were enroll in these schools.
  • 9. 9. Selected 60 GGPS for creating Child Friendly Environment. 10. Provided support to DG during rain Flood emergency situation appeared in 2006 at Mirpurkhas and against it received appreciation letter from DCO behalf of DG.. 11. Nominated member of different committees from DG for enhancing the quality of Education in the district. 12. Conducted SMCs trainings, and functionalized 150 SMCs in Primary Girls / Boys Schools 2005-2009. 13. Provided technical support to DEOs for preparing redeployment plans of excess teachers to open the closed schools, more than 78 closed schools opened through our suggested redeployment plans.
