Archives & Special Collections at the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, University of
Connecticut Libraries, Storrs, CT (2001-present)
Archivist for Northeast Children's Literature Collection (2015-present)
Perform curatorial duties for the Northeast Children's Literature Collection, through research
consultation, reference service, instruction, processing, preservation, collection development
activities and outreach. Appraise, negotiate and acquire author and illustrator archives and
monograph collections. Manage the loan of materials for exhibition.
Archivist for Multimedia Collections (2001-present)
Perform curatorial duties for the multimedia and artists’ books collections, including
photographs, moving images and sound recordings, through research consultation, reference
service, instruction, processing, preservation, collection development activities, and outreach.
Prioritize and provide support for the digitization of multimedia collections. Appraise, negotiate
and acquire multimedia archives. Promote multimedia collections making use of current tools.
Supervise temporary FTE, interns and student assistants. Managed reproduction services
(2001-2012) including negotiating rights and permissions. Oversaw the ingest, stabilization and
management of electronic records acquisitions. Served as manager for digital preservation
storage system.
Institutional Repository Manager (2012-2015)
Administer communities contributing University records and research to the institutional
repository. Develop new communities, in collaboration with the University Archivist, monitor
usage and provide technical support.
Coordinator of Reader Services (2001-2007)
Planned, organized and supervised the Reader Services Program, including development and
implementation of policies/procedures for reading room use and scheduling reference desk
staff. Managed reproduction services and document delivery/interlibrary loan requests.
Prepared monthly and annual statistical reports, including yearly goals, use statistics, major
changes in policy and procedures, new program development and future plans. Supervised
student assistants.
Kansas Collection & University Archives, Kenneth Spencer Research Library, University of
Kansas, Lawrence, KS (1995-2001)
Photo Archivist
Performed curatorial duties for the photograph collections including processing and cataloging
of photographs and film. Prepared finding aids and produced indexes and guides to collections.
Provided reference services for photographs, film, manuscripts, printed materials, ephemera
and maps. Incorporated digital imaging technology to enhance access to photograph
collections. Managed reproduction services. Addressed legal concerns such as ownership,
reproduction, and copyright. Planned and executed exhibitions of archival material. Acquired
photograph collections, supervised student assistants and interns.
Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ (1992-1995)
Cataloger
National Endowment for the Arts grant funded position to catalog fine prints of the Andreas
Feininger Collection. Adhered to description standards including CREATE (rules for cataloging
photographs developed by CCP) and Thesaurus for Graphic Materials. Produced original
catalog records using INMAGIC information management system.
Archives Assistant
Processed the Josef Breitenbach Collection and Hans Namuth Collection of photographs.
Identified deteriorating photographs for conservation treatment. Planned and executed exhibits
of archival material. Provided reference assistance.
