New Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm/Sweden (ongoing)
Project description: The assignment for the new university hospital, which will open its doors to the first
patients at the end of 2016, is to provide highly specialized healthcare and conduct basic research,
patient-focused clinical research and education. Greater collaboration between healthcare and research
will contribute to new research findings being turned into new treatment methods and medicines faster.

and client objectives.
Novum Biocity, Stockholm/Sweden
Project description: Novum BioCity will function as the new research- and laboratory centre at
Karolinska University Hospital, near Stockholm, comprising of approximately 70,000 m2
, mainly
laboratories.
Mission: Consultancy concerning organization and fire safety objectives, fire safety design, fire safety

ROAD TUNNELS & UNDERGROUND FACILITIES
The Stockholm bypass Project, Sweden
Project description: The Stockholm bypass Project is a new motorway linking southern and northern
Stockholm resulting in a new route for the European highway (E4) past Stockholm. A new link west of
Stockholm has been under investigation for several decades and a large number of different alternatives
have been studied. To reduce the impact on sensitive natural and cultural environments, just over 18
km of the total of 21 km of the motorway link are in tunnels. The construction work is planned to start
in the summer of 2014 and it will take approximately 10 years to finish. When the link opens for traffic
it will be one of the longest road tunnels in the world. By 2035, the Swedish Transport Administration
estimates that The Stockholm bypass will be used by approximately 140.000 vehicles per day.

Spent nuclear fuel final repository, Sweden
Project description: SKB, Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company, will build a facility
underground (-500 m) for final disposal of spent nuclear fuel. The facility consists of 250 m long tunnels
for the actual disposal and facilities for personal, technical installations, handling of the capsules
containing spent fuel etc.

The interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel, Sweden
Project description: Nuclear fuel is deposited at SKB´s interim storage facility, also called Clab, in two
storage pool systems 30 meters down in the bedrock. The water shields against radioactivity and cools
the hot fuel. Radioactivity and heat generation are reduced over time, and after temporary storage the
fuel has become easier to handle later in a final repository.
