METEO RYTHMOS is an artist collective co-founded by Violeta Tseli and Cristóbal
Adam in 2009 that is mainly focused on the practice of film/video-making and
performance arts. The artists united into a collective while they met attending to
some seminars on Aesthetics and Simulation, and since then their work in
common has explored the tensions between semiotics and biopolitics, materiality
and subjectivity, memory and iconoclasm. Miguel Ángel Puertas ocassionally
         collaborates for technical support.
METEO RYTHMOS has carried out various artistic interventions in public space
(in Barcelona) through which it has raised questions on issues such as the rules
that govern our social spectacle, or the value of the circulation of images in
relation to our way of understanding our current reality.

Violeta Tseli (Athens, 1986) began her career as a student of Aeronautical Engineering in
Greece, but her interest and need for artistic expression led her to engage with a longer
journey of personal and creative explorations which boarded her from Barcelona to
Brussels, and from there to Buenos Aires and back. The metropolis refuged her roaming
whose red string has been the search for points of friction between apparent identitary
separations, such as mental illness is opposed to normality, the feminine to the
masculine, the militant to the artist, the social to the private. Immigrant without passport
/ within any language that comes by her way / from cinema to the artistic situationist
practice / from collage to interactive installation. Student of universalis, now called
Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She is afraid of airplanes, is sometimes anxious, other times
ready, looks up the sky a lot. She is extremely dangerous. For more Curriculum
information come out and meet her.

Cristóbal Adam was born in Caracas in 1989 and since then has found himself in
numerous situations of duality that have been a dynamic origin for questions and
creative impulses. He was born together with his twin brother under the sign of Libra
(the balance) in a family that is part-German, part-Brazilian but was settled by those
times in Venezuela. At the age of eight years he moved with his parents and brother to
Barcelona, which caused a new duality to be followed by an insistent concatenation of
other dualisms. This situation also found a curious disclosure when his oculist recently
diagnosed him a long-last mild diplopia which prevents his brain from fusioning the
images for each of his eyes. While this position is so often repeated for him, Adam has
found there an opportunity to consider (as a work-in-progress) issues such as the
tensions between individuality and collectivity. Such a point makes it possible to displace
that first confrontation of the subject with the double other (within its continous re-
construction) into a multi-nodal system, an “inter-face” in which the otherness is plural,
and the confrontation is free from the violence proper to a bilateral face-to-face.
He is currently studying a degree in Audiovisual Communication at Universitat Pompeu
Fabra (Barcelona) and is specially interested in the practice of Performance and
Video/Media Art. Since 2007 he has worked in different audiovisual projects between
Caracas and Barcelona in the Production Design department as an assistant designer but
also as an Art Director, and ocassionally as an Assistant Director. Besides, he has
participated as a performer in different video-art projects, such as the triptych
MOROCHO, produced by artist Gabriela Morawetz in 2010.
