1. WORK EXPERIENCES
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP
San Francisco, California, USA
April 2014 – August 2014
I had an internship of 5 months in the Structural Engineering sector. I worked largely
on the construction phases of two major projects in the office reviewing shop
drawings for a 27-story building located in San Francisco, and for a 12-story Federal
Courthouse in the US. I worked on the analysis and design of a 300 m tall tower in
China being involved in proportioning, sizing and optimizing the unique exterior
bracing scheme for this structure.
I learnt about how to assemble formal calculations and drawings for construction,
and the use of linear and non-linear software programs. I got the opportunity to
learn about the interactions necessary for coordinating efforts with various
professionals to design and construct a building.
