I have more than 25 years’ experience in the domain of technical training. I possess

competent presenter of innovative and interactive training programmes in
mechanical (Hydraulics/Pneumatics specialism) and health & safety subject areas.

2. Relationship Management - Part of collaborative steering group which
included Huntsman, Sabic UK, GlaxoSmithKline, SembCorp Utilities,
Lotte Chemicals UK and GDF Suez aimed at attracting up to 40
students for their highly prestigious Tees Valley Production Technician
Programme.
Diversity and Inclusion - Addressed Gender stereo typing and BME
issues by co-ordination of innovative events designed to attract more
females and ethnic minorities. My innovative “Girls Allowed” interactive
event was aimed exclusively at encouraging more female expressions
of interest, Involvement in Middlesbrough MELA Festival and local
BME community groups to promote opportunities.
Employer Engagement - Presentations to EDF Energy, Corus and
Conoco Phillips as well as hosting open events for families including
presentations of engineering and chemical process career
opportunities. These proceedings carried out both “in house” and “off
site”.
Promotion of Vocational Opportunities - My work in collaboration
with Tees Valley Schools, Colleges, Work Based Learning Providers
and Local Industrial Companies has enabled me to compile a
comprehensive portfolio of expedient contacts over the years. I have
provided learner support and wide-ranging information advice and
guidance to in excess of 5,000 young people since working in training
from 1986.

Based in Singapore (Jurong Island Complex) my remit was to deliver
relative mechanical training to Malaysian students in preparation for
completion of NVQ level 2 portfolios and subsequent assessment of
these portfolios.

Responsibilities
Evaluate and redesign specialist Safety, Health & Environment training
packages for presentation and delivery to entire Lucite personnel and site
contractors.
Deliver overhaul induction programmes to persons prior to commencing
work for Lucite International Overhaul and also induction “refreshers” to
Lucite personnel as and when required.
Part of the steering group successfully coordinating and planning training
elements for Lucite 2011 Overhaul.

4. My role as Schools/Industrial Liaison Co-ordinator required the
management and facilitation of portfolio work and practical tasks
associated with OCR and Edexcel statutory requirements. This
involved some 300+ students from 12 schools. TTE were pioneers in
this field and I was involved with providing exemplar material for
viewing on both OCR’s and Edexcel’s websites accessible to schools
nationwide.
Mechanical Trainer April 1990 – June 2000
Responsibilities
As a time served Mechanical Fitter my role included the delivery of
mechanical and other life skills elements to apprentices both in a
workshop and lecture room environment. My principal responsibilities
involved Marking Out, Hand Tools, Pumps and Valves, Gearboxes and
Hydraulics and Pneumatics. I was also a mentor to many of the
students providing support and confidential advice and guidance during
their successful progress towards NVQ levels 2 & 3.
