SUMMARY
Industrial Chemistry PhD graduate with excellent academic grades, proven post-doctoral track record
and over three years of corporate experience across a breadth of industries: chemicals (Orica/ Dulux
Group), adhesives and consumer products (Selleys), food (Unilever), beverages (Tooheys) and
coatings (Bluescope Steel).
 A genuine interpersonal approach and demonstrated ability to work well within team
structures. My rapid integration within different work environments has facilitated
meaningful contribution and favourable financial outcomes at each of my industrial
placements (successful new product launches, cost savings and process/ efficiency
improvements).
 Strong project management, time management and data analysis skills honed through years
of self-directed research, consulting and expert opinion casework. This has in turn bolstered
my independence, initiative and capacity for creative problem solving.
 A self-assured young professional with a well-rounded and social lifestyle (musical, sport and
community interests), and an international orientation developed through extensive personal
and work-related travel.
EDUCATION
2013 Ph.D – Industrial Chemistry
School of Chemical Engineering
The University of New South Wales
Prof. Robert P. Burford
Prof. Andrew B. Lowe
School of Chemistry
The University of Florida
Prof. Ken B. Wagener
‘Ring-opening and acyclic diene metathesis: Polymerisation, thiol click modification
and organic-inorganic composite preparation.’
The aim of my PhD was to develop advanced methodologies to design and modify
polymer (plastic) structure and functionality at the nanometre scale. Potential
applications include: enhanced drug delivery, novel therapeutics, energy production
and storage, electronics, optics, water and food processing, membranes and catalysis.
