Project description: “Assessment of Trace Metal Content (Pb, Zn, V, Cd) in Petroleum Products
(diesel & gasoline) in the Shama District by the ICP-OES”.
The project was designed to ascertain the levels of selected trace metals in fuel products
among some carefully selected fuel stations. Through this project, I acquired a lot of expertise
which include:
Different sampling techniques for collecting crude oil samples for analysis.
Experience with the operation and principles of Fast Sequential Atomic Absorption
Spectrometer, flame photometer, Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission
Spectrometer (ICP-OES) and basic laboratory accessories.
Developed good practices in solution preparation.
Developed skills for analytical sampling, instrumentation and data interpretation.
INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES
Currently includes: Teaching, Reading Research Articles, Beach Exploration, Writing poems,
Football (soccer).
