Sexuality is facts, statistics, physiological functions and responses, AND integral core values, beliefs
and perceptions. Sexuality = your identity. Sexuality Education teaches us about being human and
living life with its myriad of choices and various outcomes (i.e. the good, the bad and the ugly, etc.).
Sexuality Education provides opportunities to address very real and perhaps very personal,
ideas/concerns/issues while providing us occasion to “own our sh**”.
The first half of the semester includes historical and conceptual information regarding the evolving
discipline that is commonly referred to as “Sex Ed”. Then, during the second half of the semester, we
move to material that is more practical and directly applicable to you…and the awesome idea of being a
sexually healthy person now and throughout your life.
Students who might / are planning to pursue jobs / careers as Sexuality Educators / Clinicians can use this course
to assist in pursuing certification as a NCFRCertified Family Life Educator and/or an AASECT Certified Sexuality
Educator. Throughout the semester, we will identify teaching strategies, methodology and best practices for

Academic Experience
September. 2010 Cape Town, Take a girl’s child to work place
Gathered together as girls from nine provinces in South Africa. Was able to identify
the career paths that complements my personality through the acquisition of skills in
decision making (objective setting), problem solving (investigating and researching),
and leadership (assertiveness).
June – September. Kwazulu Natal (University of Kwazulu Natal) and Kestel, Learners’
Focus Week.
Gathered together as best academic achievers from various districts in the Free State
and other provinces during both June and September holidays for academic purposes.
The mandate was to acquire new academic approaches, and enhance the manner in
which we answer questions especially in Sciences and mathematics.
8. Work Experience
June 2013 – September 2015. Bloemfontein, Nursing Practical’s.
I started being exposed to the work place (hospitals, clinics and old age homes) in the
year 2013, during June holidays until up to the present. This experience involves
working within a team- based culture. It involves planning, organization, ordination,
and commitment to ensure that the attainment of the patients’ basic needs.
Having to work with various personalities, and at often times under the pressure
pressure assisted in the development of critical thinking as a skill.
Public Services
I am a devoted Christian, and from part of the Solidarity of the Virgin Mary at the
Roman Catholic Church. It is during the holidays that we gather together to visit
institutions such as the hospitals, prisons, and orphanage homes to give away the
food parcels and also as we believe “heal “ them spiritually.
Interests
Leadership. Chair-lady of the Solidarity of the Virgin Mary in the year 2010 , secretary
of Learners’ Representative Counsellor in the year 2008 , and drum-majorettes leader
in the year 2008. Planning and organisational skills had to come to the fore, and also
found “active- listening” a very useful skill when working in a group.
Sports. I believe that a healthy body is the key to a focused mind in the hectic society
of today. I took part in drum-majorettes, ladies soccer and also athletics from
foundation to tertiary phase.
Living life. As the bible in James 4: 14 outlines the life of a person, as “a mist that
appears for a little while and then vanishes” I aim to get the most out of it. I spend most
of my time interacting with “like-minded” people; exchanging data and adding value to
one another’s life. Talking about life, academic hurdles, and solutions towards the
obstacles over a cup of cup had always been doing it for me.
Hobbies
9. Studying. “Motivation gets you going and habit gets you there.” – Zig Ziglar. It is
through studying daily and making it a part of my daily life that I was able to attain all
the academic achievements stated above.
Reading the bible. “Self- made” concepts does not exist in my vocabulary. It is stated
in the book of James “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives
generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5). I
therefore believe through the assistance of God, and acquisition of God’s wisdom I
was able to attain the goals planned.
Writing Motivational Speeches. One cannot be motivated if does not individually
possess the intrinsic motivation; I believe that it starts from the within. I am a good
“self-motivated speaker”, and therefore compose motivational speeches in my free
time.
Composing poems. Enough poem and creativity prompts to keep me permanently
inspired. Allow me to take out the “creative juices” instilled within me.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Computing. A week lecture on computer which included word, PowerPoint, excel and
blackboard access was administered in the first year of Nursing Profession
