Qualifications:
Librarian:
1. Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation
with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 points
scale & consistently good academic record.

2. At least 13 years as Deputy Librarian in a University Library or 18 years
experience as a University/National Institutes/College/Librarian of which at least
3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian.
OR
M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/
Archives & Manuscript keeping with 10 years experience as a University/National
Institutes/College/ Librarian of which at least 3 years shall be as Deputy Librarian.
Desirable: Evidence of innovation in Library services & organization of published work.
I. Professor cadre posts:
1. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. degree in the concerned/relevant discipline and
published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of
published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy
papers, of which at least five papers in NAAS rated journals in the previous cadre.
2. The total service required is 13 years in the cadre of Assistant Professor and above
Teaching/Research/Extension experience in University/College/National level
institutions with 3 years in the cadre of Associate Professor (37400-67000 + 9000
AGP).
3. Significant contribution to Teaching/Research/Extension.
4. A minimum score as stipulated in the prescribed Score Card.
5. A minimum pay of Rs.43000/- in the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000+ 10000 AGP.
II. Associate Professor cadre posts:
1. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/ relevant disciplines.
2. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent.
3. A minimum of eight years of experience of Teaching/Research/ Extension in an
academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a
University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with evidence of
published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/ policy
papers, of which at least three papers in NAAS rated/ Refereed journals in the
previous cadre.
4. Significant contribution to Teaching/Research/Extension.
5. In case of Programme Co-ordinator, KVK, Disciplines indicated by the University
should be adhered to.
6. A minimum score as stipulated in the prescribed Score-card.
III. Assistant Professor Cadre Posts:
1. Good academic record with at least 55% (Traditional) or 60% (Trimester) or 70%
(Semester) marks or its equivalent at the Master’s Degree level in a concerned
subject from a recognized University.
2. NET is Compulsary.The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test
(NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, ICAR or similar test accredited by the UGC
like SLET/SET.

3. Essentiality of NET can be waived-off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree
provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations
2009, and the candidate has at least two full length publications having a NAAS
rating not less than 4/ minimum of four full length papers in NAAS rated State
Agricultural Universities (SAU’s) Journals on the last date of submission of
application. Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work will not
qualify for NET exemption.
4. NET shall not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which
NET is not conducted by the ICAR/UGC/CSIR/ SLET/SET.
Note:
1. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master’s
level for the SC/ST Category.
2. Candidates with knowledge of Kannada are preferred for the Teaching/Research/
Extension post in the entry level in the University (mandatory for KVK posts).

1. For Librarian Post Rs.1500/- (RS.1000/- for SC/ST). For Professor/Associate
Professor Cadre posts Rs.1000/- (Rs.700/- for SC/ST). For Assistant Professor
Cadre Posts Rs.750/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST).
2. A Xerox copy of the Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority should
be produced in support of claim for fee concession under SC/ ST Category.
3. The entire Notification along with the detailed qualifications prescribed for each
cadre posts and the prescribed application pro-forma is accessible and can be
downloaded from the official website of the University of Agricultural
Sciences, Bangalore (www.uasbangalore.edu.in).
The candidate whoever wishes to apply for the said posts may refer the official
website of UAS, Bangalore.
4. Filled-in applications together with allied enclosures should be submitted in an
envelope, superscribing on it, “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF
_______________” to THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, UNIVERSITY
OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, GKVK, BANGALORE – 560 065 on or
before 04-06-2014. The filled in applications must accompany the
prescribed fee in the form of Demand Draft in favour of the
Comptroller, UAS, Bangalore.
5. Candidates claiming under Rural Category quota should enclose the certificate
of study in rural areas (for 10 full academic years from 1st
to 10th

issued by the competent authority.

6. Candidates claiming under Kannada Medium quota should enclose the
certificate of study in Kannada (for 10 full academic years from 1st
to 10th
standards) issued by the competent authority.
7. Candidates who have studied under Trimester System and other than
10 point grading system are required to produce the certificate of
equivalent percentage obtained from the competent authority.
8. Candidates for Teaching Posts have to enclose their published research papers,
books and publications compulsorily to the applications. The research papers,
books, reprints etc. not enclosed to the applications will not be taken into
consideration at the time of interview.
9. Candidates claiming Reservation under Hyderabad Karnataka Region should
enclose the relevant certificates issued by the Competent Authority as required
under the Government Notification-II No.DPAR 43 HKC 2013 dated:
29-01-2014.
10.Ex–servicemen or children of Defence personnel killed or disabled in action are
exempted from payment of application fee provided they produce the
appropriate certificate in this behalf.
11. Separate applications is to be sent for each post.
12.The selection Process for teaching posts notified is as per the Quali. & score-
card notified by the University in No.AO/RT/Quali.& Score-card (Teaching
Posts)/Direct Rectt./2012-13 dated: 6-11-2012 and No.AO/RT/Quali. & Score-
card/Direct Rectt./Prof. cadre/2012-13 dated: 26-12-2012 and for
Librarian post No.AO/RT/Quali. & Scorecard (Officers & Teaching
Posts)/Direct.Rectt./2007-08,dated:3-12-2007 and Gazetted dated:
27-12-2007.
13.Minimum marks prescribed for placing in the selection panel for Assistant
Professor, Associate Professor and Professor is 30, 40 and 50 marks
respectively and for SC & ST, 5 marks relaxation is prescribed for the above
cadres.
14.All late, incomplete applications and without payment of prescribed fees are
liable to be rejected.
15.The appointed candidates for Teaching Posts shall serve for a minimum period
of five years in the place of posting.
16.The appointed candidates will be governed by the Statutes and Regulations of
the University.

17.Number of vacancies notified under this Notification is subject to alteration and
the University reserves the right to fill in / not to fill in any or all the vacancies
notified.
18. Only attested copies of the certificates should be enclosed along with the
applications.
19. The appointment shall be subject to fulfillment of all the eligibility
conditions prescribed by the University.
