This document discusses the ecological importance of shade coffee farms in preserving biodiversity and provides a case study of a patient, TN, with bilateral damage to primary visual cortex who retains navigation abilities despite clinical blindness. The study highlights that residual navigation skills may exist through extra-striate pathways, suggesting advanced visuo-spatial capabilities in humans without visual awareness. The findings signify the potential for future research into the visual capacities remaining in cases of complete cortical blindness.
