• As the key to understanding the type of culture, unique cultural
features encoded In some form of information to identify a culture
• Cultural code defines a set of images that are associated with a
particular set of stereotypes in our minds. This is sort of cultural
unconscious, which is hidden even from our own understating, but is
also seen in our actions
• There are three kinds of global cultural codes:
1. Preliterate (Traditional)
2. Literary
3. Screen
4. Digital

These are cultural codes that are transmitted through
oral traditions and indigenous knowledge. They are
often found in societies that do not have a written
language or have limited access to technology.
Examples include myths, legends, proverbs, and
folktales.
One of the great example it is: Ancient Greek myths and
legends, which tell stories about gods, heroes, and monsters
and reflect the cultural values and beliefs of the society.
And even films are being made about these legends and
