This document outlines the objectives and performance checklists for a training module that teaches participants how to safely cross pedestrians at intersections. The module has two objectives: 1) observe and practice proper positioning, communications, preparation of students, and crossing techniques at simulated or actual intersections, and 2) demonstrate proper crossing techniques at simulated or actual intersections. The performance checklists ensure participants wear a complete uniform, have the proper equipment, understand traffic signals and crosswalks, prioritize safety, and correctly position themselves. They also check that participants demonstrate the proper search pattern, ensure children remain safe, properly position themselves for visibility, stop all traffic, and guide children across behind them while remaining in the intersection until all children have crossed safely.
