The company needed to move its data center to a new building due to growth. This involved moving 250 servers and other infrastructure while minimizing business disruption. Careful planning was required, including pre-wiring racks and documenting server locations. On the move weekend, a team worked continuously to uninstall, move, and reinstall all equipment. Their meticulous preparation allowed the new data center to be operational by Monday morning as planned.

Given the pieces of information provided in Documents 1 and 2. Write a project value statement
Here is the project idea that I have chosen to go with
Look into migrating data to the cloud for a Financial Company called Sinah Financial Holdings, LLC along with building a new infrastructure for the expansion of the company.
Business Problem Statement:
Sinah Financial Holdings LLC., a thriving company has decided that the time to expand has come. With just one present location in XYZ city, growth in its industry is limited therefore the opening of branch locations in various cities has become its number one project. The firm’s current infrastructure is very small in size, only capable of supporting a small size office. The company does not currently have WAN and VPN technologies, only a local LAN through the major local ISP is in use. All backups are stored onsite with tape copies sent to a cold off site location. The databases with all financial information are stored in the local server with only one system administrator performing all major database tasks. This means for such expansion there is a need to replace or upgrade the current infrastructure to include hardware, software, and other applications. With the expansion planning, various technical problems have been identified, primary the storage and backup state for the sensitive data found within the locally managed servers and databases. Additionally security with access to such sensitive information has lacked for way too long; with this in mind more secured heighten methods are desired. Across all industries the momentum is building up to move applications to cloud computing, this is especially true for industries that retain sensitive information such as our firm. Pressure to improve efficiency, store data more securely, and cut cost has made moving an on premises infrastructure to a cloud feasible option, however the types of cloud services that are available and their characteristics (private/public/hybrid; SaaS/PaaaS) lead to unwanted disasters.
High-Level Functional Requirements:
Financial data is one of the most protected types of digital content, finding ways to store, secure and manage such in this ever changing world of computing is a challenge. Sinah Financial Holdings LLC., through a series of stakeholder meetings has identify the need to grow and significantly improve elements of its financial company through the use of current technology as well as the introduction of new solutions that comply with federal regulatory and compliance specifications. For this company’s expansion to be successful the addition of various geographically dispersed branches will require a large and fast LAN/WAN network to be accessed internally by the staff via the intranet and access from the outside by client(s) via a secure web interface. VPN capabilities for traveling and visiting staff should provide a secure connection to internal resources once auth ...

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Critical data center move case study
1. Meticulous Planning and Technical Know-how
Prove Vital in Critical Data Center Move
CUSTOMER PROFILE
A provider of software a service to the Legal community, this company serves legal department
and Law firms and data processing institutions in the APAC region. Its focus on leadership,
regulatory expertise, and comprehensive technical assistance has fueled strong, consistent
growth and earned the firm a leadership position in the industry.
CHALLENGE
In response to tremendous growth caused by new business development and several
acquisitions, the company had leased a new building and created state-of-the-art data center to
house its Information Technology organization. The task of moving the existing infrastructure
into the new data center was enormous, however.
The highly sophisticated environment included 250 servers, two Storage Area Networks (SANs),
a tape library and the company's entire backup infrastructure. To minimize impact on business
operations, the company wanted to begin the move after close of business on a Friday and
have the new data center up and running first thing Monday morning. Success would depend
upon selecting to work with the right mix of technical knowledge, implementation experience
and project management skills.
SOLUTION
We began by creating a highly detailed plan of action for the move, which took into account
many critical pre-move tasks. These details - some minor, some more significant - can be often
overlooked by less experienced professionals but make a world of difference when attempting a
major installation on a tight deadline.
We installed new racks, rail kits, UPSs, and power distribution units at the new data center.
Cabling for each server was pre-wired with custom lengths and labeled in the new racks prior to
the move. Thorough documentation depicting each server's location, wiring schema, move
priority and schedule was created. Just prior to the move, each server was rebooted to confirm
that there were no outstanding hardware or software problems.
When moving day arrived, careful planning was put to the test. A team of engineers worked
throughout the weekend to manage the project, un-install, move and re-install all the equipment.
All servers and applications were tested prior to the Monday morning production deadline.
The upfront work and careful planning paid off, and the move was accomplished smoothly and
efficiently. When the company opened its doors on Monday morning, the new data center was
up and running, ready for business.
