Rising crimes in our city Mumbai is an Indian city that is ostensibly termed the economic capital of India and it is projected that a very high percentage of the total volume of business carried out in the whole country is transacted here. Mumbai is therefore a frontline city of India and is often the dream destination of many an Indian who aspires to make it big in India. While Mumbai’s population continues to grow at a rapid rate, so too has the rate of crime as it relates to “crimes against women.” Local media and police have reported an increase in crimes of sexual assaults within the Indian community against women. However, police attribute this perceived increase to victims feeling more willing to report such crimes to authorities.
