Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport that originated in England in the 16th century. It involves two teams of 11 players each, with one team batting and the other fielding. The batting team scores runs by hitting the ball thrown at them by the bowling team and running between wickets. Positions on the field include the batsman, non-striker, bowler, wicket-keeper and various fielders. A match can last up to 5 days with each team getting a turn to bat. The team with the most runs at the end is declared the winner.
