• The most common or basic definition of creativity is to bring
something into being.
• Creativity is define as the synthesis of existing ideas in a unique ways
that is appropriate to the context, issue or problem.
• Creativity require “novely” and is pre-requisite (essential) for
innovation.
• Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality.

3. Kinds of Creativity
Invention: The Invention is define as the creation of a product or
introduction of a process for the first time. E.g. Invention of steam
engine, electricity and so on.
Innovation:
• It occurs if someone improves on or makes a significant contribution to an
existing product, process or service.
• Innovation is a process through which the entrepreneur convert market
opportunities in to workable, profitable business ideas or innovation is when
the idea not only be proved workable but also commercially feasible and fulfil
a specific need. E.g. Cellphone to smartphone, T.V. to LED.

4. Types of Innovation
Incremental Innovation: The change implemented through incremental
innovation are usually focused on improving an existing product
development efficiency, productivity and competitive definition and
incremental innovation is small improvements and upgrades made to a
company’s product, services.
Technology Innovation: It is a concept developed within the scientific field
of innovation studies which serve to explain the nature and rate of
technology change.
Breakthrough Innovation: It is a fewest and extremely unique innovation.
It takes a current process or product typically provides greater efficiency or
cost effectiveness or BI is when you bring something new to the world.

5. Creative Thinking
• Creative thinking is a skill that enables you to come up
with original and unconventional ideas.
• It is a way of looking at situations and problems from
a fresh prospective or thinking of innovative way to
tackle a problem and face challenges.

• It is the first stage or seeding stage of new idea.
• In this stage an entrepreneur recognize that an opportunity exist in an
environment.
• The first stage take a shape only when an entrepreneur shows an interest and
curiosity according to which opportunity is explored and exploited to its best
potential
• Creative idea generation on the basis of needs and problems of people and
according to the area of study.

8. Preparation
• More interest and curiosity, the need is adjusted by the entrepreneur
and he starts looking for the answer to implement the idea.
• Again market research is to be conducted, if the idea is to launch a
new product or service.
• Market research help an entrepreneur to focus the future of the
product.

9. Incubation
• This is the sub-conscious assimilation of information.
• It is also considered as the transition period (change of one stage to
another).
• The entrepreneur starts thinking about the idea, imagination and
thinking about implementation in his/ her subconscious mind.

10. Illumination
• In this period of illumination the idea resurfaces in realistic way and
entrepreneur comes out with viable plan to give practical shape by
collecting raw material, arranging funds, policy making for the
implementation of idea.

11. Verification
• It is also called the validation or testing stage. This is where the idea is
verified to prove that it has value. This is the most difficult phase in
process of creative thinking as obstacles being to appear.
• This is developing stage in which knowledge is developed into
application.
