19. 1 – Get Plenty of FRESH AIR Fresh air will purify the blood, refresh the body, and help to make it strong and healthy. It also gives clearness to the mind, improves digestion and encourages sound sleep. During the day, spend time outdoors. At night, sleep with a bedroom window cracked. GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. Genesis 1:7
20. 2 – Get Plenty of SUNLIGHT Sunlight is one of the blessings which Heaven has provided to make the sick well and to keep in health those who are not sick. GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his beams; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Malachi 4:2
21. 3 – Practice TEMPERANCE Temperance is self-control that teaches us to do without everything that is hurtful and to wisely use that which is healthful. We are to practice temperance in eating, drinking, sleeping, working, and dressing. GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16,17
22. 4 – Get Plenty of REST Since the work of building up the body takes place during the hours of rest, it is essential, especially in youth, that sleep should be regular and abundant. Education, 205 GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while : for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. Mark 6:31
23. 5 – Get Plenty of Daily EXERCISE Daily exercise in the open air imparts strength to the muscles, liver, kidneys, and lungs and enables them to perform their work. GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Genesis 2:15
24. 6 – Choose a PROPER DIET And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Genesis 1:29 Our bodies are built up from the foods we eat, so we should eat regularly of the most healthful foods. GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH
25. 7 – Drink Plenty of WATER Water is the beverage which God provided to quench the thirst of animals and man. Drunk freely, it helps to supply the necessities of the system and assists nature to resist disease. Ministry of Healing, 237 GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. John 4:7
26. 8 - TRUST IN GOD God wants us to put our trust in Him instead of worrying. We should search the Bible for encouraging promises, claim these promises as we pray, and believe that God will answer our prayers and work things out for our good. GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
27. OBEDIENCE to God’s 8 laws of health leads to health and happiness. DISOBEDIENCE to God’s 8 laws of health leads to sickness and sadness. GOD’S 8 LAWS OF HEALTH Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 2
