1) Masashi Ito discusses an integrated broadcast-broadband system using CMAF-ULL technology to provide live video feeds over the internet with delays of less than 3 seconds, synchronized with terrestrial broadcasts. 2) This technology was used to provide additional views like player-tracking cameras of volleyball matches in near real-time, synchronized with the main broadcast. 3) The system was built in just 3 weeks using AWS managed services and Videon EdgeCaster4K, representing the world's first large live event using CMAF-ULL and AWS.

14. 1) Efficient and Automated Operations
• The streaming system of CMAF-ULL was used for as many as 22
matches for the FIVB Volleyball World Cup program.
• Along with the CMAF-ULL system, we also developed a system that
incorporates automate and live streaming more efficiently by an agile
method using AWS.

15. 2) the World’s First Case
• This was the world’s first case of a large live event with CMAF-ULL
video streaming using AWS managed services.
• Without the support from people of AWS, Videon and Rexcel Nippon,
this case was not able to succeed.

16. 3) Built in Three Weeks
• Launching the service on September 14, the decision to use the
CMAF-ULL was made in August 2019.
• Without our past R&D experience, Videon EdgeCaster4K and Amazon
Web Services, this would not have been possible to build the system
in just three weeks.

18. Picture-in-Picture with IBB System
• If the IBB system in a TV receiver supports the technical requirements
for CMAF-ULL and can display both broadcast video and broadband
video at the same time, a picture-in-picture service where the
broadband video is overlaid on the broadcast video will be possible.
• As of now, it is very complicated to implement picture-in-picture on TV.

19. Media Timed Events
• Sports analytics information is deliberately delayed so that it doesn't
appear earlier than the live video.
• There are mechanisms for embedding “Timed Metadata” in streaming
video data, such as “emsg box” of CMAF and “StreamEvent” of DASH.
• These mechanisms allow the information to be presented in sync with
the live streaming video.

20. • CMAF-ULL technology enables live streaming over the Internet with
a delay of less than three seconds.
• We made a practical service of CMAF-ULL to feed live video from a
different view than terrestrial broadcasting.
• Nowadays, broadcasting technology is based on IT and is always
innovative.
