At the University of Pittsburgh, I learned a number of key skills that will enable me to thrive in
this job, particularly structural design and green building design. Meanwhile, almost two years
study refined my critical thinking and analytical skills. It let me realize how to effectively meet
deadlines, and work with various types of people to complete projects and tasks. I do pride
myself on being a fast learner and feel confident about my capacity of quickly acquiring any new
skills needed to succeed in this role. Through fifteen days study, I passed the LEED GA test
with the score 192/200. After that I quickly passed the E.I.T test within twenty days. In February,
I successfully got the LEED AP: BD+C certification. These not only prove that I am a quick
leaner, but also indicate that I have a solid foundation for future career job.
Furthermore, it’s my dream to be an excellent engineer just like my father. When I first went to
his office, he focused on a drawing and talked to his colleagues with confidence. His
professional image deeply impressed me. It spurred me to make a decision that I want to do
this kind of work in the future. This invisible and formative influence led me go on an engineering
road.
