James Joyce was a renowned Irish author and film director best known for his revolutionary 1922 novel Ulysses. His film Counterparts tells the story of Farrington, a man struggling with alcoholism whose addiction costs him his job and damages his relationships, including with his young son Tom, whom he beats at the end of the film. The film stars Edgard O'Brian as Farrington, Mike Beiber as his boss Mr. Alleyne, José Guzman as Weathers who bests Farrington at arm wrestling twice, and Charles Brown as Farrington's son Tom.
